I've actually read some of those somewhere (not on Snapple bottle caps referring to the other thread like this), but still quite interesting.

In the last 4000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.

What does this mean? Because I think that I disagree with it.
What about stupid stuff like hedgehogs and stuff..... that people use as pets.

The state of Virgina was built in 1940?

Ok, I gotta raise the bullsh|t flag on at least one of these...

If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.

Take one smallish atomic bomb ... say Little Boy .. the Hiroshima bomb ... yield was about 13KT

1KT = approx 1e12 calories

So the yield from Little Boy would be about 1.3e13 calories

6 years, 9 months = approx 2460 days

So, you'd have to be producing about 5,280,000,000 calories of gas a day.

Assuming your a 100% efficient fart producing machine .. ie. every calorie you eat goes straight into fart production, you'd have to eat the equivalent of about 8.9 million Big Macs a day.

How could this be true? Hemp is not marijuana, it's a completely different plant. It can't be used as a drug at all.

WTF kind of animal is a barnacle?

Virginia was a state LONG before 1940.

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
Sleeping uses 90 calories/hour for a 200 lb male. The majority of body heat escapes through the head. Moving the head and heat transfer from the pressure against the wall will increase this, so 150 calories/hour sounds REALLY low.

On average, people fear spiders more than they do death.
Based on what? Sounds like BS to me. Maybe people just answer spiders more when asked about fears because death seems too obvious and rational.

The strongest muscle in the body is the TONGUE.
Wrong. Most health texts on the subject say the strongest muscle is the jaw. I would think however, that in a lot of cases, the quads are actually stronger than the jaw.

"I am." is the shortest complete sentence in the English language.
What about "I do?", or single word commands where the subject "You" is implied, like "Go!"

Americans on the average eat 18 acres of pizza every day.
And thats just me and my siblings.

Every time you lick a stamp, you're consuming 1/10 of a calorie.
Is that a scientific calorie or a food Calorie? (The Calories listed on nutrition labels are actually kilo-calories, and should techinically be written with a capital C, because it would just be wierd to list your diet soda as having 1000 calories, or a normal soda as having 160,000 calories. 1 calorie is technically defined as the amount of energy is takes to heat 1G of water 1 degree Celcius, approximately 4.18 Joules. If you mean 1 Calorie as in the food calories people normally refer to, I call BS.

There are two credit cards for every person in the United States.
That statistic must be at least 20 years old. Nowadays almost everyone has 10 or more. Even my sister's dog has received more than 2 pre-approved credit cards.

Cat's urine glows under a black light.
So does the urine of UCF students who drink too much campus tap water. (It has insanely high phosphorous content). Lots of coca-cola will also produce this effect.

In the last 4000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.
I doubt this. I know people with pet alligators, tigers, and other unusual dangerous animals.

Babies are born without knee caps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2-6 years of age.
bones do not just "appear"...

One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today is because cotton growers in the 30s lobbied against hemp farmers-they saw it as competition.
At least one of these statements is TRUE!

If Barbie were life-size her measurements would be 39-23-33. She would stand seven feet, two inches tall and have a neck twice the length of a normal human's neck.
I've seen these stats before, only the measurements were more like 56-24-36.

Just owning something as a pet does not mean it has been domesticated. True domestication takes a long time, and involves breeding out agression, especially agression that mother animals show towards people that attempt to handle their young.

Related to a clam.

I think he is referring to the energy it actually take to bang your head against the wall.

True. In the Western World world, people may be afraid of spiders, but in the Eastern side, many still eat them.

I thought the strongest was the heart, since it has to work constantly till you die.

In the last 4000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.

Just because they own dangerous and strange animals don't mean the animals are domesticated. If you tell someone you have a dog, no one will look at you strange. However, if you tell them that you own an elephant, they would be like WTF, do you run a zoo or something. Also, normal people can't name where domesticated animals originated from. Do you know where cows orginally come from? Chickens? Cats? However, if you show them a tiger, they would know it's somewhere from Asia.

It's propaganda made up by people who support the legalization of marijuana. You'll see alot of it in the CD liners of bands like Cypress Hill. They also support medical marijuana, which I'm sure not all of them have a need for. They wear hemp clothing (see Woody Harrelson) to take one step closer to normalizing marijuana.

hmm ... I didn't know this (but verified it). So knock my nuclear bomb/fart estimates down by 3 orders of magnitude ... you only have to eat 8900 Big Macs a day for 6 years and 9 months.

Gistech is correct... since hemp fibers could create stronger fabrics than any other artificial material they used influence to illegalize ALL hemp/marijuana. The reason being that you can not copyright (and then monopolize) natural materials (hemp, cotton).
· There are two credit cards for every person in the United States.
· Cat's urine glows under a black light.
When I was skimming through this I thought it said 'There are two credit cards for every black person in the United States'

Our ears and nose NEVER stop growing. Whoa. So I could be 80 years old and my nose be twice as long as it was or is.

"It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open."

No, it's not. One of my old managers could do it (it scared the sh!t out of me when I first saw it). She said that when she was a kid, she heard the same "fact" and wanted to prove that it wasn't true, so she spend one whole summer forcing her eyes open when she sneezed, and not she doesn't ever close her eyes when she sneezes

So not even close to true. Receiving junk mail isn't the same as actually having a card. Of my 11 closest friends and myself there are a grand total of 2 credit cards. Within my entire family no one has more than 3. Only the ignorant would have 10 credit cards. As financial education is increasing, more and more people are understanding that they must get rid of credit balances and keep them gone, and are moving back towards a cash out society.

so are you saying it would take you fewer big macs to fart nonstop for 24 hours?

personally i would hope it takes at least that many bigmacs to get a good 24 hour fart
