And where exactly do you show that Tiesto is the top DJ in the world? He is well known, and if you said Top Trance DJ then maybe, but there are many others that are just as well known.

That being said, Tiesto is definetely more well known worldwide.

votes. but he also way ahead in album sales, and gig earnings. he is a sell out crowd everywhere he plays.

He is going to be in hartford, ct sunday night. I think they are paying him $70,000.00 for a 3 hour set.

I forgot about that list conducted by Mixmag. And its hard to argue with it since they conduct polls, and basically everyone votes for there favorite 10 and thats how the list is compiled. Still, Tiesto sucks and this is just sheep mentality that got him to that spot. Trance is where electronic music begins for a lot of people, and most people will evolve away from trance assuming they evolve to continue to like electronic music at all.

I like everything, except trance. And as I said, I had to evolve away from Trance because it used to be my favorite. I have all of Tiesto's early stuff, and PVD and Oakenfold were my favorite DJs for a long time. But then I stopped doing the drugs and realized that trance is horrible. Most especially vocal trance.

Right now I listen to mostly Progressive house, which is mostly Electro right now but it was mostly dark and tribal house not 2-3 hears ago. I don't really like techno too much either, but I like tech house and minimal if its done right. I'm also really into Breakbeat in all its forms.

One thing that is tough to argue with is this poll. Which proves that AT has no clue on this particular subject. I may not like trance or Tiesto personally - but worldwide you don't know very much about European, Asian or South American culture if you think the Bears are more known or more popular.

You could take most of the top 10 DJs from that site and every single one of them is more popular and more well known then the Bears. People need to realize that electronic music is by far the MOST popular music in the world, and its very good at stretching over cultural boundaries. American Football is probably the least popular sport in the world, Soccer or real Football being #1
