Actually a lot of non-US people will know the name because of Hollywood movies in which they are mentioned.

The US has a population of around 300 million people, many of whom aren't interested in american football. The rest of the world has a population of around 6.2 billion people, almost every single one of which is not interested in american football. A good parallel is that as an american, I can't name a single soccer team. Anyone saying Bears hasn't thought out the numbers involved.

I think that maybe the billion people who watched the Super Bowl last year know who the Bears are. That, combined with the fact that they've existed for several decades, makes them more well known then the latest big DJ.

shens on the billion people watching the superbowl. I don't think a billion people watched the world cup and that is the global sport of choice.

anyways..... obviously in the US the bears would prevail. But if you ask 1000 people in every major city in every major country......the more well known in each country will be tiesto. There is no market for american football out side of north america. the bears would win for only a handful of countries.

Do you have sales numbers for DJ Tiesto's albums worldwide? That's the only thing we can compare. Anything else is just pulling numbers out of the blue... kinda like my billion stat. And while a billion people may not have watched the game, the number of people who were aware of it and read the news about it are aware of the Chicago Bears. I think soccer is one of the most boring sports on earth but I knew that Italy won the last world cup.

Don't forget he played the opening ceremony for the 2004 olympics a very widely watched event.

If you asked casual viewers what the name of the DJ was at the 2004 olympics they would have no idea wtf you are talking about.

How many times does "opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympics in Athens" need to be repeated in this thread?

Did the same. Never heard of DJ Tiesto.

Same here. Ditka + Bears > Tiesto.

"Ditka vs God, Trick question, Ditka is God"

Nice, this comparison goes out the window if you through in Ditka!
