anyways..... obviously in the US the bears would prevail. But if you ask 1000 people in every major city in every major country......the more well known in each country will be tiesto. There is no market for american football out side of north america. the bears would win for only a handful of countries.

Do you have sales numbers for DJ Tiesto's albums worldwide? That's the only thing we can compare. Anything else is just pulling numbers out of the blue... kinda like my billion stat. And while a billion people may not have watched the game, the number of people who were aware of it and read the news about it are aware of the Chicago Bears. I think soccer is one of the most boring sports on earth but I knew that Italy won the last world cup.

Don't forget he played the opening ceremony for the 2004 olympics a very widely watched event.

I watched the entire opening ceremonies which were televised on NBC for the US, and if I remember correctly, NBC's announcers did not once mention Tiesto's name. In fact, the volume for the background music was so low - as if NBC didn't want the US population to hear trance music. I saw video clips of it from different countries and the music volume was much louder.
Possibly another reason why much of the US doesn't know Tiesto.

I think its funny these wannabe 'europeans/japanese/korean/etc' living in the US thinks rather niche market stuff is mainstream outside. We deal with this a lot when silly american fanboys of Japanese stuff try to tell my wife how it really is in Japan when they have only been there for a few days. In any country you can find anything...however; what's common or normalplace are entirely different.

DJ Tiesto and the Bears are both popular. However, neither are known in any majority worldwide. All you have to do is factor in the homeless/foodless masses and it all becomes a wash.

Not all adults listen to trance outside the US, I wouldn't even say a large portion in any countries demographic. In some nations its more popular, but definitely not so mainstream.
