I figured out a way to make 100+ gold a day with little or no risk. So far it is legit, but they'll probably nerf this in the next patch.

There are some posts on Wow forums about this.

Also, you should not drop first aid, for some reason, the alt with the first aid tends to get more cloth to drop. Maybe that's superstition, just like the stack of five rabbit's foot and stack of five lucky charms that I'm carrying.

If nothing else, keep first Aid since bandages sell to vendors for more than the linen cloth alone. It's not much, I think a stack of 2 linen is like 29 copper, where a heavy linen bandage (made from 2 linen) sells for 30 copper. Not sure if that's the same for wool/silk/mageweave, but you shouldn't be selling those to vendors anyway. Over Christmas on my server, the price of a stack of wool was 1gold, for some reason people were buying it at that price.

Cosmos is not buggy at all.... what part are you useing thats buggy?
map mod... wep mod... Questshare/Questminion DPS meter Time calc.. rogue helper... compass mod...

ive been using it for almost 1 year with 0 problems....
its not "bloated" its just a couple .XML files doesnt load or affect anything at all
it automatically clears folders and downloads the latest build every time i log in.. (and if you use Alpha build it loads the newest version every day)

oh well CTmod is ok if all you need are extra toolbars.. i prefer a whole toolbox worth of customability and tools.

Cosmos caused some serious issues with numerous error messages for a few days after the most recent patch, that's the second time I gave Cosmos a shot and still received error dialogues and found it to be bloated. CT ALSO has a map mod/toolbars/combat mod/dps meter. I think the questminion, etc. in Cosmos are really just bloat. Is it REALLY that hard to ask someone what quest they have? It's nothing but eye candy to me. Like a clock? Is something wrong with the mouseover clock that's built into the WoW UI? That defines bloat in my opinion (redundant superfluous functionality).

And to respond to NeoV about Macro's.. they are invaluable. I use at least 8 constantly on my Pally, just check out the WoW UI forum, there's a list of really common (and handy) ones. From there you'll learn to make whatever you find you begin to need.

Um same thing happens to CT mod after every patch... you have to to redownload the latest build after any patch..
Cosmos makes it easy by having a button that does it automatically... and your errors go away.. thats not cosmos's fault that you cant figure it out...
how is something "BLOAT" as you put it when there is no overhead? its not anything that loads into memory or executes.. its a simple .XML file same as CTmod... with more things in the tool box.. and no CT mod does not do the things that cosmos can...
its a halfassed attempt..

Quest minion is not eyecandy... its a list on your main window that shows what quest you are on and how many or what items you still need to complete it...

Weapon Hot switch buttons on main screen.. enagbles me as a rogue to never have to open my bags or my paperdoll to poison my weps or switch weps..

Clock.. uses the same clock as WoW does but enables locg trackers for level... level time.. time to next level.. distance travled... time played this session... and alot of other stuff i cant even remember at work.. but i use it alot...

totem stomper for shamans = very cool...

Gotmoos Buff mod = uber...

rogue helper= much better combo point/energyn meter than what WoW gives...

5 extra quick bars... with artwork removal... ability to make empty buttons disappear etc..

map features WAY WAY superior to CT mods...

Tackle Box= Fishing helper pretty cool if you fish...

I dont understand why some of you retards think that Cosmos = Bloat... becasue you only use what you need... rest doesnt affect you.. it doesnt use any more memory than the regular UI or CT mod...
yet half the people that complain about it arnt smart enough to figure it out...

oh well keep using what you like ....we will keep using what is best =P

You have to be a rogue and an enchanter. at lease level 48ish, give or take. solo, stealth all the way to the end of Doan in SM. Kill him, take his "phat" loot, disenchant for a large glimmering shard and a large glowing shard.

exit instance, ask a guildmate to invite you, re-enter the instance, repeat.

now, a "small" glimmering or glowing shard can sell for 1-2 gold each. imagine how much a large one is worth.

now that the secret is out, this will be nerfed quite soon. (the last patch killed the value of the loot, the next patch will probably raise the difficulty of this)

 BLOATmos, who wants to submit everything they do or have other people submit information about them? >_>

Other people submitting information about you depends on *them* running cosmos, not you running cosmos.

Thottbot data collection is easily disabled from an obvious category in the settings menu.

We do.. how else do you think Cosmos Database of quests and Items gets bigger and more complete....
this is an Invaluble tool... and it doesnt get updated unless peeps submit...

I use Thottbot countless times a day when playing WoW.... who really wants to wander a zone looking for a location when Thottbot gives me the exact location...
screw that...

Cosmos/Thottbot gives me an Edge over non-users if they are too dumb to use it let them die to me or keep asking the newb questions in /1 as long as blizzard allows cosmos ill be usign it... its much to powerful of a tool to not use it.

That is better than nerfed already... better get all you can casue its over next push...
btw you dont have to be 48... a GOOD rogue can do it at L40... doan is a cakewalk with good gear and potions...

I tried CTmod yesterday, and didn't particularly like it, but it's neat to see the available features...I'm going to try Cosmos tonight..

One thing I really need to do better is complete quests in a timely manner....I hadn't done the RageFire Quests until last night, and the reward for them, at my level, was less than 100 xp pts each, and I got no points for any of the creatures in there...

I wish you could auction off soulbound items!

I was in Dustwallow marsh last night, but I didn't see that expert first aid person in the village I was in - some Orc camp..oh well

Another Vote for...
1) Be a Priest
2) Thumbs up on Cosmos
3) Money isn't that hard to come by. Mining is good, leather market seems to be falling (on Shattered Hand anyways). Having not really done much more than sell the loot I get or auction it off, I have all the money I need for weap/armor upgrades and spells/abilities. 100 G in the bank doesnt do me much good w/o anything to spend it on, and many of the rediculous priced items are overkill anyways.

This is being nerfed with the patch on Thursday. Apparantly now when doan is attacking any of the scarlet guards within a certain vicinity alive rush in=one dead rogue . So unless the level is cleared properly beforehand anyone in there with Doan is getting owned. So I'd suggest making the most of this now before its cut on Thursday.

NeoV:
I?m a ?she?, not a ?he.? Hmmmm, should I give away my secret? Ahhhh?. it?s really only common sense and not much different than the stock market.

I?m capitalizing on the stupidity of other players. Most people with common sense check the value of an item before they put it up for sale. I would say maybe 25% of the people at the AH not only don?t do this, but also they make some grave errors in listing their item. Mistakes, similar to the one below, are higher on the weekends.
.
Truesilver Rod 2.25g
Truesilver Rod 2g
Truesilver Rod 2.25s
Truesilver Rod 1g
Truesilver Rod 2.50g

I suggest if you need to purchase an item, you buy on the weekends and sell during the week when the prices are more stable.

Something you may find interesting and if your patient, some serious money can be made using this method: I spent quite a few days at the AH and there is no doubt in my mind that certain categories of items are being cornered and prices are being fixed. I won?t get into details because that?s not important. Instead I?ll tell you how it?s being done.

A small group of people attempt to buyout all of a specific item in a category and then resell it at a fixed higher price. That item must be in demand and have a high resale value. The majority of the sellers listing prices must have a ?buyout?. This allows you to scoop it up quickly, if need be, to prevent your fixed priced item from being to far undercut. To sum it up, your basically buying low and selling high. The only difference between the AH and the stock market is that your doubling your money by fixing prices.

Because it?s the same group of people involved in fixing the prices, I?ve learned how high they will go when bidding against them and then outbid them by a few silvers. I also know what their selling prices are and undercut them by just a few silvers. It?s advantageous for you, as well as them, to keep the market price of that item fairly steady.

Hopefully the few examples above will give you some idea on a different perspective in accumulating a sum of money. It?s not very exciting and because it is time consuming, I don?t recommend this approach for someone who?s priority is to level quickly. However it?s a good way to bring your skills up. What else is there to do while your watching the market at the AH?

I often wonder why anyone needs to learn trade skills. Isn?t the whole idea to make money to allow you to purchase items and training? Or, am I missing something here? Nevertheless, it?s fun and my skills are climbing but I?m going to hit a roadblock when I have to venture out on a difficult quest to meet the higher level trainers.

As I mentioned before, I?m a rookie at playing PC games. I love playing but at times I find it frustrating going solo as a low level, now 21, priest. When asked, I occasionally join groups but I?m hesitant to do so. When a player dies, I feel responsible. I?m more often in the cemetery because I died trying to protect them. I?m not sure what is the most effective way to play a priest Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kiss, my guild did the same thing with runecloth. We would buy out the market and price 20 stacks at 5 gold. We were originally the only ones selling runecloth so when people tried to undercut our prices, it was easy to simply buy them out and resell to ensure the price stayed high.

I'm new to the crafting scene....got my main (warlock) to level 32 and wanted to take a break from adventuring. So I took up skinning. Got my skills up to around 180 quickly and now skin everything I can when I solo. The other nite in Stranglethorn I fragged reams of cats and gators and ended up selling 1g of leather skins in the AH....this after just a couple hours of soloing/skinning. You don't get alot of $$$ per unit of skin but when you sell several stacks of medium and heavy leather it adds up. I also took up tailoring but it looks to me to be a money pit.....I might ditch that and mine instead (hopefully it's easy to change your mind and drop a craft.....we can only have two).

Regarding UIs, I don't know if there is a best....though there is probably one best suited to your preferences and class. Tried CTmod.....nice but as a Warlock I want a soulshard count on my screen at all times and it doesn't give it to me. Tried Nurf but not enough hot bars. Warlocks need reams of hot button space. Eventually I ended up with Ziv's mod of Gypsy which is just about perfect. Soulshard count is always on your screen as is the time, you've got mapnotes, quest minion, and a nice character summary bar. And, of course, lotsa hotbutton space.

He probably has a high lvl character on the same server and sends money to himself. Even at lvl 40, getting 100G takes some time. If he collected 100G on his own at lvl 18 he probably not spending his time as well as he could. Maybe he has some pyramid scheme going on at the auction house.

Uh... in fact cosmos still has some bugs in it from the recent patch. Try auto looting a clam and you'll see what I mean. It also causes WoW to crash on me about 75% of the time when I exit, and about 33% of the time when I log out.

I'm not positive its cosmos, but I've noticed after the recent patch and cosmos update that when I first open up the social frame, it's blank even though it seems to think it has data in it.

Also, tackle box seems buggy as well. But not error message pop up buggy like the auto loot / quick loot thing. It doesn't always remember things properly, and sometimes it fails to pick up my off hand item when switching.

Let's not get into the bug that has been known for a long time where the mouse over for an item when talking to a vendor loses its sell price until you re-mouse over.

I'm not sure you understand how add ons work if you think that cosmos does not bloat WoW at all based on the logic above. A large number of the mods respond to events, and due to the nature of events in WoW, a lot of times they are called unnecessarily because the event is not specific enough.

Acquire

those are typically called BOP and BOE, not BOA...

I am one to choose not to waste much time in the AH, go in, look at what prices are going for, and auction off what ever I have, buy what ever I need, and I am on my way...

Skinning maxes out with Artisan - 300, leatherworking OTH, has 3 different elite paths that you can take, each with it's own benefits. Dragonscale, Elemental and Tribal. You can only choose one path when you get there.

I use Cosmos and it works fine for the most part, I have been having some rouble when I turn in quests though, not suer if taht is Cosmos or not...

I love all the features in Cosmos, the Rogue Helper is awesome, DPS per battle is really cool to see, and the clock is awesome, cause on mouse scroll over, it shows you all kinds of information, such as time traveled, speed of current travel in relation to normal run speed, time to level at current level's xp per hour rate, time to level at sessions rate, xp per hour this session, xp per hour this level, and more...

launch the cosmos.exe... open options... make sure keep interface folder clean in checked... then select remove UI.. then pull down alpha from the build list then have it download it...

As a rule, I never roll on BoP items that I can't use. As a cloth wearing mage, that's pretty much everything. If I can use it, I'll do a quick check of what I'm wearing to see if mine is already any better before I roll. My guild keeps me supplied with cool stuff, and I'm usually doing instances with them, so it doesn't bother me to see them get good gear.

I usually ask if anyone is an enchanter in groups, because often they'll want to roll on stuff they can't use to DE it. Especially if there's something that DE's into a shard, which is usually worth more than the item itself would have been on the AH.

I have done all of those. It could be that you don't have all of the same mods enabled that I do. You definitely have the thottbot problem because it has been acknowledge and not fixed yet (unless it was fixed last night). The only way to fix it is to remove thottbot entirely.
