You put too much faith in human beings. They're HUMAN, not flawless. Truth is, humans do what they please, whether you accept that or not. You can't tell someone else they're lying if one of their mormon friends was kicked out because they married a non-mormon or didn't pay rent -I mean tithe. You simply cannot.

Your Mom made you do it. Not the Church. Big difference. When I was kid my mom ordered me to make my bed. Not church doctrine, but making the bed is a good idea.

The church does promote a Sunday where you do spiritual things. TV can rarely fall into that definition. So her interpitation of what the Church was asking was "Don't watch TV on Sunday's". More of an ask than Commandment from on High. 4th and Goal you are not really thinking about how you can be a better person through volunteering.

Not to get into this but I find the problem with most churches comes from human error. Mormon teachings are not bad, actually quite the opposite if you want that lifestyle.

If you have never SEEN the way the Mormon Chruch handles these things. You cannot say it did happen the way a 3rd hand account of a pissed off ex-member says it did. People leave out little details.
And it's interesting that the one person who said he knows the process, and gave information, is being doubted. So you don't trust any current Mormon?

11 million members?!?! HAHAHAHA! Don't make me laugh. Even inactive members, such as my wife who has attended church in 5 or 6 years, is considered a member. See, what you people do is you get someone to join, but when they leave, it is a difficult process to get your name off the list and you still consider them a member. The fact of the matter is, the Mormon religion is a very small religion.

Tell me this, if you don't advocate the sale of caffeine products and in fact tell your members it is better to stay away from it, then why do you own a soda franchise that sells caffeinated beverages? Hypocrit.

I find this articlenewsworthy: Jan. 2006 - Mormon Church to spend $1.5 billion on shopping malls in SLC. More money is being spent on these malls than given in total charitable aid in the last 22 years! Is this a church or a corporation? Donations to the Mormon church are not helping the poor.

I hope you are all happy though. I talked to me on-the-fence sister-in-law about the religion again last night. She doesn't really believe the Mormon stuff anymore. When I told her about planet Kolob she couldn't stop laughing. I think that was the nail in the coffin of her belief in your idiotic religion.

I am doing my best to conver Mormons to non-Mormons and it is working well. Oh, but I know their name won't be taken off the list and your members will continue to grow.

I thought Sunday you weren't supposed to do any work and Monday was the day for family.

I just remember my hosts getting mad at me for doing my laundry on Sunday and on Monday night, the "Mormon Channel" had some show on at prime-time that everyone had to sit together and watch so they could say the whole family sat together and did something.

Per Your llink to EXMORMON.com (always a good source for true and acurate news reporting )

Note: The Mormon Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley recently stated that no tithing funds are being used for these malls.

Exmormon.org is a support group for exmormons and does not advocate any religion. It is simply there for people to commiserate about the religion.

It doesn't matter what money is used. The fact remains that your selfish church is spending more on a shopping mall than it has on people in the past 22 years. What are you trying to teach? With so many starving and hurt people in the world, you would think the TRUE church would try to help out a little more instead of building a shopping mall.

Seriously, the TRUE church of Jesus Christ chose to build a shopping mall? Where exactly did the funds come from? From the sale of caffeinated beverages?

Yes, even that is easily answered, just like all your other previous "contradiction" and misconceptions. However, no more answers for you little man until you answer the questions that have been asked of you.

Please tell me this. Why did Brigham Young order the massacre of 120 men, women and children moving to Arkansas? Furthermore, why did your church get them to surrender, offer them armed escort to safety, and then slaughter them?

I understand bad things have gone on in the past. What is worse is this: why does the church continue to deny any wrong doing of this? Why do they blame a scape goat? Why did they buy remains and hide them?

I ask you to question your faith in this religion. Oh wait, that is against the religion. You are supposed to look the other way. I still haven't received an answer to my question about the caffeinated beverages. It is true that the LDS church and its members own a very large share of the Coca-Cola company, which sells caffeinated beverages, which members are told they shouldn't drink. That makes the church hypocrytic. It is like a Catholic church owning a strip club. Please rationalize this for me.

That was yesterday Please ask me the questions again and I will answer.

You seem to be awfully condescending for a good Mormon. Sure you aren't going to hell for that?

I'm sure I am. I work on it and repent of it almost everyday, and will most likely have to continue the rest of my life. I just have a problem with treating people the same way they treat me.

As for reposting the questions, no. I've already done it twice. You have a back button, use it. There are even these little page number things on the bottom and top of the pages.

EDIT: I never claimed to be a "good" Mormon, just a Mormon. You said yourself there are bad ones in every group. Maybe I'm just one of the bad ones.

I remember the one question about Corinthians.

I believe you took it out of context. Let us look at the whol 1 Corinthians scripture you so boldy claimed supports multiple heavens. You see, you took this all out of context. This scripture relates to how there exists many different forms and different types of matter. You are telling me, in this explanation about how the dead are raised and how all flesh is not the same, God decided to throw in that there are different types of heaven? No. Please don't use scripture out of context.

35But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" 36How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

Let me go ahead and interpret that passage for you. Essentially it is being explained that there are many different forms and splendor that things can take. Men have one kind of flesh, animals another, and they differ but are both good. How do you explain the part where it says that each star differs in splendor? Does that mean there are an infinte amount of heavens? Infinite levels of heaven?

It is funny how humans attack things they fear. pinion9, nik, and whoever else i have to ask why does the mormon church scare you? It doesn't bother anyone sure you have to send the missionaries away maybe once a year but who really cares, unless you fear they are right.

I don't care about your answers. My point in this thread is for the OP, who asked if he should join, to read about your church and how they require you to wear protection giving garments, that Kolob is a planet/star next to God's throne, that Brigham Young ordered the execution of 120 unarmed men, women and children and now has Universities named after him, that Joe Smith found some plates that he interpreted and then realized they were a hoax, that when you get married you receive some special name that you can't tell anyone, and that you must not associate with apostates, even if they are family members, and that the Church will sell products it doesn't condone the consumption of and would rather build a shopping mall than help out with charity.

I am the adversary.

Oh my gosh, what a copout!!! "I'm not here to answer questions about my beliefs and understanding because they're irrelevant. You're just supposed to accept my beliefs and understanding without any questions."

You are pathetic. You have no answers to our questions yet expect continual answers to your ridiculous questions and horrible interpretations. And you know what, I don't care. Your blood isn't on my garments, so continue feeling the way you do. You're wrong and that's all there is to it. Been nice talking to you though.

Oh, and you forgot a few of the other items you brought up as well that we've already shot down. Is what you've listed just what's left over from the list? Though several of those have already been answered.

Spare me, you're pathetic.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of misinformed individuals in this thread making comments about a religion that they do not fully understand.

Mormon, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, or whatever: there's no need to bash on someone else because they do not believe the way YOU think they should.

Period.

It is funny how humans make broad generalizations.

I don't fear the church. You only have a few million members worldwide, if you take out from your bloated number all those who have left. And I have done my fair share of converting members back to a sane, non-organized religion where they don't feel pressured to do good works for a creepy bishop.

Hey, you still have questions, questions that need answers. And yes, I will post this after every single post you make. Every one until I get my answers or you stop posting. I can do this all day.
