We lived a little over 3 yrs. in Utah, and it never mattered how often we said "NO, nor told them NOT to come back, they did anyway. I got pretty irate and unpleasant a couple of times, and one day, when I was at work, one of them stuck his foot in the door when my wife tried to close it. He said he could tell we REALLY needed to hear what they had to say...They finally left when she stuck my .357 in his face...offered to "introduce him to his god, to see if the book really was true or not"... they stayed away...for about 3 weeks, and it started all over again...
surprisingly, the cops never came to the house over it...I expected them...
All in all, like I said in my first post in this thread:
"'ve got pretty mixed feelings about the Morons...I mean Mormons...I lived in Utah for about 3 yrs, and knew some very good Mormon people...Folks who had strong beliefs in their religion and lived it...Then, there were the "jacks"...sinners just like the rest of us...Being a "Christian" in the land of Moroni was eye-opening. You are treated differently, like a 2nd class citizen, you are routinely discriminated against, in housing, in employment, and in retail establishments...It's done subtly, so as not to give you enough to sue for, but you know it's there, and you feel it in lots of places"
Overall, most of the Mormon people I met were good people. Even the :jacks" were good enough people. Why just like "regular people" Doesn't matter which religion we're talking about, there are good ones and bad ones, and many in-between...I was surprised at the apparent "corruption" within some of the Mormon stakes...elders or (bishops(?) who embezzled church funds...things like that, but it happens in every church group, so I'm not trying to point to the Mormons like it's something special with them...Hell, there was a Catholic priest the other day who plead guilty to embezzling something like $800K...I'm just not a big fan of any of the organized religions, because there is too much hipocracy and back-stabbing in all of them...Catholics, Mormons, Judaism...they are all the same in that way, because they are ALL made up of humans...well, maybe not the Mormons, because they get their own planets ...but you get my point...people will be people...
