<< I'm sorry, but I don't care if this is a preview edition; it still sucks. Music City should be doing what it's done before, and just upgrade Morpheus 1.x to the new code base. Gnutella is simply too bloated/unorganized to run a good file sharing network; something that FastTrack accels at. Even when you don't look at the network, Morpheus still has problems. Who designed the GUI? A 12 year old? I realize MusicCity licenced the FastTrack client(complete with GUI); but still, considering most of their code for MPE comes from open-source Gnutella clients, you'd think they'd at least try to use some of the time to emulate the 1.x GUI. Oh, and for anyone looking for files, you'll have to sort them yourself. MPE doesn't divide up files by audio, video, ect; you get everything with a matching name in the same results.
Until the day FastTrack dies, or Gnutella becomes like FastTrack(complete with the super-node structure), I have no intention of using MPE. The action will continue to be at Grokster/Kazza, not Gnutella.
PS Is it me, or does the GUI of every Gnutella client suck? I mean there are some better than others, but they all seem to be second-class GUIs compared to things like WinMX, Scour, Napster, and FastTrack >>
It's not just you. Gnutella is one of the worst file-sharing schemes ever designed. There are so many better ones out there, like Fasttrack, WinMX, Direct Connect, etc.
