Morrowind on PC or Xbox?

I'm seriously considering getting Morrowind. Which version should I consider (Xbox or PC)? Which version looks better graphically? My Xbox is plugged into a 36" XBR. My computer is decent, but a year and a half old. It's a dual PIII 1GHz with 384 MB of RAM with a GF3. Check my signature for any additional info. I'll probably end up renting it at blockbuster for my Xbox just to get a feel for the game to see if I like it.

If I were you I'd probably rent it first for Xbox, then play it, maybe also look at some screenshots of morrowind for pc. I have a AMD 750 MHZ and 128 MB sdram and a MSI Nvidia Geforce 4 ti 4200 and it runs pretty good, but it does have its slow times, and i don't think it looks bad graphically either. but i would check some stuff out first like the screenshots.

Ive been thinking the same thing...

although my system is slower than yours AMD 800 and Geforce 2 GTS-V

I will probably get it on XBox so I can play it on my TV, plus I doubt my system could handle it very well. The only difference is you can't design levels, etc... on the XBox. I think you can on the PC version.

The game will run perfectly fine on your system. My sytem's considerably slower, a Duron 800, 256 MB RAM and a GF2 MX, and it was enjoyable at 800x600 medium settings. I assume it'd run flawless on nboy22's comp, too, if it weren't for his ridiculous lack of RAM - the game must be swapping constantly.
Personally, I'd go for the PC version, but I do prefer PC gaming to console gaming so that's mainly a matter of taste. The PC version does have the added bonus of free content available because of the included (very powerful) scenario editor, but I'm not sure whether that has taken off or not. The PC version also has the potential to look a lot better than the Xbox version, but on your hardware I'd say the looks should be pretty much equal.

The graphics in Morrowind for the PC are disappointing unless you have an excellent computer.

Example: I have 1400 Athlon, 512 DDR, Geforce2 GTS. I set the resolution to 1024x768, had pixel shading off, view distance at 35%, etc, yet had consistently low FPS and long wait times. Additionally, the game would crash literally every 5-10 minutes. I liked the game but couldn't stand it since I had to save every room, and still have to wait for the game to load up after it had crashed. I guess I would recommend the X-Box since you have a decent system, but not top-of-the-line. I sure that you wouldn't get the crashes either which were, as you would expect, a much bigger issue than low frame rates.

I have the Xbox version and am about to get the PC version. I love it on the Xbox but, right now you can't patch it or add any modifications to it. That's why I'm getting the PC Version. I've had it since it came out on the Xbox and I don't play it as much as a I used too. When I get it for the PC I will probably play it a lot more.

Well I ended up buying for the xbox. I think I rather spend countly hours in front of a big tv and on a nice couch than at my desk in from of my computer. So far it's a cool game, but I think it's going to take lots of my time

Bit late for a reply, but I did the same thing (bought for XBox) and I much prefer sitting on a big comfy couch to play on a reasonably large screen.

I haven't had any problems with the xbox version so far. It slows down every now and then, definately not a problem. Graphics look excellent, gameplay is done reasonably well given the controller instead of the mouse/keyboard. The very long load times for a saved game are the only thing that aggrevates me, but I have a feeling the PC version probably has the same problem.

Load and Save times are pretty quick...like 5 seconds....

HD in Xbox is very slow, but it's not used like a HD is in a PC, so it's ok....also it needs to run cooler (the HD) because no fans in Xbox.

My $.02
