I'd kill to be able to telecommute from the town where I went to college, though. I'd be able to rent a townhouse for half of what I'm paying for this 1 bedrom apartment. lol.

If you have a decent job then it's a great place to live.

20 years ago, Cary/Apex NC and the surrounding areas may have made such a list. But now the housing market has exploded and well... i don't think you could buy a box for less than 150k.

Nothing good down here in Georgia unless you get out in middle of nowhere. I'm still hoping someday I'll be able to move back up to western PA. I'd like to move up there now so we wouldn't have to pay to put our kids in private school. None of the schools down here are worth a flip.

I'm familiar with the three towns near Pittsburgh - West Mifflin, Penn Hills and Brentwood. Many areas here (not just those three) have extremely affordable housing compared to other cities. Our home is going to be paid for next month.

I drove through western new York and thought it was really nice.

But there's still now way you're getting me out of California. I'm freaking 31 and I live in a house in a town that I can see myself staying in through retirement.

I grew up in East Detroit but all my friends lived in Harper Woods. My sister inlaw lives in Lincoln Park. They are both nice places to lives if you like older housing.

That's funny! I live less than three miles from both Northbrook and North College Hill. Almost in between the two.

Edit: I didn't notice page two. It has Cheviot. That's about three miles from me as well. Northbrook is about three miles to the north, North College Hill is about three miles to the east, and Cheviot is about three miles to the south. I'm right in the middle.

It's not nowheresville. Downdown Cincinnati is less than 10 miles away. The area has just about everything.
