Most annoying Firefox behavior

Firefox always puts new bookmarks at the bottom of a folder instead of the top and there seems to be no easy way to change this behavior.

Or the OP could, obviously, simply select Bookmarks / Organize Bookmarks & "Sort by Name". Done. Takes about 2 or 3 seconds.

More annoying is selecting some text, but FF decides to select most of the text on the page. Then that selection appears to be frozen until you refresh the page. It's been like that for a long time.

Yup this has annoyed me on many occasion, it selects one of the page elements, eg a div, and you cannot un-select it.

Most annoying IE7 behaviors: How do I remove *a specific* cookie? If there's some issue or error with the ssl cert presented by the website I'm attempting to visit, IE gives me the option of either going to the site or not. There's apparently no way to view the cert first to see if I want to trust it.

Firefox: I really can't think of anything at the moment about it that annoys me.

The forced updates blow when you need to fire the browser up for a quick peek at a site.

You know what's really annoying? When Firefox decides to crash on you when you're using an online service 6 hours past its expiration... (I was on the Toyota Information Service all the way till 7am when FF decided to crash randomly, this was 6-7 hours after the midnight expiration)

IE will load quickly because a lot of it loads while Windows is booting.

Memory usage - don't know, I haven't really compared it much to IE, as I don't use IE often, and I've never used other browsers.

Javascript - probably a valid concern.

And yes, it's annoying that it can't install extensions without a restart; fortunately, it now saves your tabs and windows if you restart it, though it will kill all downloads in progress.

Asking upon start up if you want to update extensions, then after selecting YES, it installs them but requires you to press CONTINUE. Do they think we start up FF just to see if there are any extension updates?

This seems to be a problem that is endemic in software lately - either a program needing your attention to walk it through an update process where your only options are "Continue" or "Cancel", or a program just feeling like it needs to let you know it's been updated, like virus checkers with their stupid "You repositories are up to date" popups.

You want a fucking cookie because you did an auto update? The whole fucking point of automatic updates is that they happen in the background and I don't need to worry about it. Especially virus definitions, what the fuck am I going to do with this knowledge? If something goes wrong, let me know. Otherwise STFU.

For some reason this is something that just really pisses me off.

Yes, there's an add-on for this.:laugh:

Check "Check for updates when Firefox starts" and "Install updates when they become available," and disable all notification displays in the Display tab. You can also disable the alert notification for updates.
The only times I receive notification that an update has been installed is when the update is programmed to take me to its homepage after the installation is done.
