The forced updates blow when you need to fire the browser up for a quick peek at a site.

IE will load quickly because a lot of it loads while Windows is booting.
Memory usage - don't know, I haven't really compared it much to IE, as I don't use IE often, and I've never used other browsers.
Javascript - probably a valid concern.
And yes, it's annoying that it can't install extensions without a restart; fortunately, it now saves your tabs and windows if you restart it, though it will kill all downloads in progress.
