Most awesome High School class ever

For my first period class this semester I got to be a tech aid for the head of the tech department for my school district. The class freaking rocks, I get to work on and fix computers all period, get to try out the new stuff he wants to roll out, get free candy if I ride in his van(not really I do get free candy though), and I don't have to walk any staff through their problems if I don't feel like it.

This year we are rolling out newish pentium 4/win xp comps (big deal for a poor school like mine) got new lcd monitors and set up 2 new computer labs one of which is going to be used for CAD.

At my university we have a class on The Simpsons.

Seems like the school has found a way to save a lot of money. Cheap student labor, wages are paid in grades.

I did several independent study classes in high school. One was doing CAD stuff, where we actually went out and surveyed one of the local banks lots, which meant time outside just as nice sunny spring was hitting. I also did a programming one (Visual Basic). We had a computer class (A+ based although we weren't allowed to do the certification in the class so it was kinda a waste) that was a fun class especially since we got to mess around most of the time. I actually had my computer smoking because I had put the front panel connectors wrong and it shorted it or something. We also did a class where we designed a High Mileage Vehicle for a competition (we didn't complete it in time though, so we never got to go, although I heard they did do it the following year). We had to design it in CAD first (we were going to actually try testing parameters using some other program but we never did (I don't think we would've gotten much useful data out of it anyways).

I slept in study hall. I also worked in the library collecting quarters from kids printing off colored pages.

I liked the sleep more.
