Most Difficult Video Game Ever?

Dude, I'm totally with you on G&G. That game was craaazy. Blaster Master for NES was a PITA too. Other hard games:

Ninja Gaiden (damn hard, but beatable at least)
Battletoads
Pulstar
T&C Surf Design on NES (there was this one part of the game where you had to surf and it was impossible)
Viewpoint on Neo Geo
Do Dan Pachi-Shooter for Import Saturn
Gaiares for Genesis
Target Earth for Genesis

Let's see:
NES - Golgo 13, Milan's Secret Castle, first Castlevania, oh yeah I forgot about Blaster Master.
Amiga - Hmm...can't remember the name. It was a side-scrolling shooter and you are an owl; it was a kick@ss game though. I just couldn't get far at all in it. Anyone remember the name? I think it was by Psygnosis.
PS2 - Maximo without the cheats.

Kobudo (old XT game) on a P4 is pretty hard, mostly because it takes the enemy about .01 seconds to reach and kill you thanks to the processor speed

What the, Viewpoint was hard as hell. Blaster master was a PITA cuz you couldnt save and it was so damn long.

Forgot about hellfire tho, that was definitely one of the hardest.

roger wilco 4 for pc. there was one part in the mall where you're escaping from the security guards and you go into the zero gravity skate rink in the middle to evade them, and the security guards just kill you. i had no idea how to pass it, i spent months revisiting it. granted, that was over 10 years ago, but i'm sure it's still as impossible.

I beat Castlevania, I beat Rush n' Attack, and I beat Ikari Warriors. But I never could beat Ghosts n Goblins.

I thought the random AI of SOF2 made it too difficult. You would hear a grenade loudly clinking on the soft jungle floor and not have any clue what direction it came from or where it was.

I also hate games that have serious flaws in them like not being able to figure out how to get to the next level. This makes a game difficult for me. This will kill my interest in a game quicker than anything.

there was actually a NES game where the last item needed to open the last dungeon or something DID NOT exist in the game...
leading to an IMPOSSIBLE game to beat...

and for me...it was a puzzle/action game called solomon's key....HARD.

I finished Doom 1 and 2, but I can't remember most of the levels without seeing screenshots.

I think it was Startropics, you had to look in the manual to decode something but they forgot to put in the page.

Them NES track and field games where you have to hit the buttons like crazy.

Some events where impossible without a TURBO controller.

The funniest thing I have ever seen.

I beat that game, but I had to "cheat." I had the NES Turbo controller, so I set it up so that my character (Link) was on a screen with infinitely spawning enemies (birds, I think). Then I just set a book on top of the "Attack" button in turbo mode, and left it on overnight. Next day, many levels for me!

Okay, so I got through Ghouls n' Ghosts...then, you don't even get to fight the boss, Lucifer. You have to go back to the first stage, get the magic goddess weapon, and then go through the entire damn game, again!
