Christ, ugh!

Our tents were filled with those at boy scout camp. They are fairly harmless.

they are completely harmless. Harvestman (arachnids, but not spiders), don't have venom or silk. A bite (if they even can bite) will be like a bite from a typical ant... harmless but annoying.

there are so many damned long-legged arachnids, its hard to actually determine what a daddy long legs actually is. A lot of people call harvestman daddy long legs, and a lot of people think daddy long legs only have 6 legs and are a typical insect. There are some 6 legged insects that resemble spiders. Some areas have actual spiders, venom and all, that look like harvestman, except with a spider body (in that picture, you can see it has a singular body segment, no split abdomen like a typical spider).

I'm going to not click on any of the links. But recently over here in the desert I've spotted two 5-6 inch long spiders which were disgusting. Not camel spiders, but something else and huge altogether.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking happened here.

I lived in Broward myself for most of my life and a few times I've smashed or stomped a spider only to see all the babies go scattering all over, freaky stuff.

I hate spiders more than any other creature out there. They just creep me out.

Of course my level of fear for spiders is still not even in the same category as my wifes fear for cockroaches, I swear she'd jump off the roof of a 30 story building to get away from one .

Oh God those green canvas tents at Boy Scout camp had the nastiest bugs, spiders, whatever else up in the top corners of them. Man i would hate seeing those things above me at night trying to sleep.

Lol I remember that back in 6th grade (also Boy Scout camp), we had mating crane-flies hanging from the inside of the canvas. Creepy as all hell.

We also had a skunk crawl under the wooden framing and spray the occupants (The occupants were idiots and lazy a$$holes, so it was worth it)

Needless to say, EVERYONE dragged their cots outside and slept in the open with bug repellent on our faces, 'cept for that one time it rained.

I am both intrigued, and disgusted, by spiders at the same time. Kind of like watching a horror movie through your fingers, while your hands are covering your face....

Spiders are just spiders. What REALLY freaks me out continually are house centipedes. They aren't "cute" (not my word, what the hell is cute about a thing with 100 legs?), are brown, have long antennas and run everywhere. Sometimes I'm in the living room and they just sit on the ceiling for 6 hours before making a move. Funny story once. In the living room, I saw a half-size hourse centipede trapped in some spider web under the TV table. The spider came and duked it out for a while; the spider won. I was pretty disappointed considering the centipedes are suppose to eat household insects. That one sure failed at life.

And there's also that huge black beetle that I've seen, and I have no idea how it got inside (duh).

Dude. I see house centipedes ONCE in awhile.....but when you can sit on your couch and be amused by a fight between a spider and a centipede, all while wondering where that new big black beetle may be....well my friend, you need to call Orkin!

You shoulda been there 15 years ago. We had a cockroach infestation; little mofos were running everywhere. I even picked one up by accident when playing with Lego *cringe*... Oh, and someone in the house found on in their lunch. Pure/clean thoughts...pure/clean thoughts...

Ugh, lastnight I went to bed and a cockroach jumped on my face when I turned on the light. It was very gross, so I cut the head off of it. Then I decided to look up what happens when you cut their heads off. They can live for up to two weeks with no head. Oh my gah-ross.

Note: I'm currently in the more remote areas of the Philippines, and cockroaches are everywhere.
