Just remembered that scene in Schindlers list when the german
dude wakes up in the morning and starts picking off prisoners in the courtyard.

But Irréversible Has one of the sickest more gruesome scenes in it ever.

Fire extinguisher + face + 3 minutes = Most disturbing Movie Scene.

There are a couple of rather nasty scenes in Cannibal Holocaust.
Also, there's a scene in Anthropophagous the Beast that's supposedly quite nasty, involving a fetus, haven't seen it though.

The Second Renaissance, Parts 1 and 2, from the Animatrix had a LOT of disturbing stuff. These affected me in particular:

1. The Robot ripping the guy's head apart
2. The lady being stripped, beaten, and shot, even though we find out she's a robot.
3. During the battle against the robots, one of the humans is ripped out of his machine. His limbs are left behind.
4. The experiments performed on humans by the robots
5. The "suicide" bombing at the United Nations

I think I wish I hadn't seen The Second Renaissance. Not only was it disturbing, but the resolution of Matrix Revolutions completely disregarded anything that happened in the Animatrix.

Whenever I see something disgusting or disturbing in a movie or tv show, I remind myself that it's only a movie and it becomes a non-issue. I actually think about how they did it to make it disgusting... it becomes comical.

i got ya all beat.

while the "bite the curb" part of american history X is disturbing, and disgusts me, you understand the artistic province and approach to the scene. In other words, you know why the movie did that (shock value, etc..).

The movie that scarred me for life was a foriegn french film called "marquis." We had an odd movie rental place that carried all kinds of films, including foriegn, and a friend wanted to see it after hearing about it.

First of all, the whole thing is done with puppets, forever mangling my view of the muppets. I think it was about the french revolution, there is this guy who was in a cell as a prisoner in the bastille who would write stories and read them to his penis. Yes, that's right, his d!ck is a seperate character and puppet in the movie. There are some very odd parts where the guy has to choke his friend to shut him up. But the worst part is where for some reason along the plot line, this general-guy in power to let the prisoner go wants the guy with his puppet penis to pleasure him rectally. The penis doesn't want to do it, and offers the guy the alternative of using a lobster that is on the table. When the guy asks "how will that work?" His penis tells him "use butter." The image of a puppet pleasuring the anus of another puppet and the puppet enjoying it has of course horrified me, and I'm a pretty thick skinned guy.

Homosexual puppet-on-puppet action with a lobster takes the cake.

I guess I say that takes the cake because I don't understand it. I get the bite the curb scene. Seeing this movie has made me ask "why god why?" what is wrong with the french? (ok that's a joke question kindof.) But whatever you do, don't see this movie, it's not funny cuz it's not intended to be, it will just, well, scar you for life.

The scene where "keith" is asked to do some disturbing stuff in "In the Company of Men"
The scene where the kid drops down into the latrine hole in "Schindler's List" (along with about 100 other scenes)
The scenes with Russian Roulette in "The Deer Hunter"
The scene in "Pillow Talk" where Roc Hudson uses stereotypes to make himself look gay. (only disturbing if you know a bit about him)
The whole pile of crap movie "Last Tango in Paris"
The brothel scene in He Liu / The River
Normandy in "Saving Private Ryan"

oh yeah, and the scene in the hustler where he gets caught hustling.

I'm surprised nobody has said anything about the Hell scene from Event Horizon, though.

Word, there is something that kicks ass about a bloody corpse speaking in demonic latin... Definately got to me when I was young.


Cannibal Holocaust was a pretty disturbing movie, considering that it was shot in like the late 70's and really pushed the 'gross out' limit.

Ya also gotta love the scene in Day of the Dead where the zombies tear the guys torso apart and start eating his intestines... loved that one as a kid... I swear if they screw up the re-make of dawn of the dead, I'm gonna be so pissed...

much harder to watch than the Monica Bellucci rape scene people keep brining up.
