most durable mouse?

So I've had three logitech mice fail on me in about 2 years or less because of mouse click failure (cannot click and drag). My mx1000 was the first to fail but lasted over two years. My g9x failed in less than 2 years, and the replacement they sent me lasted less than a year. I've done a google search on durable mice, and it seems logitech is the best, and razor appears to be the worst culprit. Are there any other companies out there that make reliable mice? I have a feeling these mice are built to fail quickly so these companies can make a buck off of us, but maybe not.

I've always considered mice as somewhat expendable. I have been using the same Wacom Graphire mouse for over 5 years, and a Logitech VX-Nano (for my laptop) for over 3 years. I think a lot of a mouse's useful lifespan depends a lot on how it is used.Gamers' mice have a shorter lifespan than those used by non-gamers.

I would agree that Logitech and Razer are not the most durable. I wonder if some of the more specialty brands like Zowie would be a better bet? The only worry is that I think that the switches tend to be the first thing to fail and I think most of them use one or two brands of switches.

That's what I'm afraid of as well. All the bodies of these mice can be durable as hell, but they all get the switches from the same place.

...which makes them easy to source. See, there's a silver lining .

The really annoying bit is that you basically have to buy new mouse feet to replace the switches. Sealed-case design like that is total BS, but they all do it, these days, it seems :'(.

Logitech had a few models with durability issues like the g5/9. The gaming models g100s/400s/500s are supposed to have better switches and testing in the design stage.

Its a common problem with Logitech mice, double click failures are by far the most prevalent failure. Razor tend to die for different reasons, the switches are normally different but they have other mechanical failures and stress problems.

What some people do is get omicron switches (fast and very tough) and replace the original switches. I don't know of any mice that use Omicrons to begin with but knowing those are the toughest switches (arguably best switches) should help you search.
