Believe it or not, it was Psychedelic Furs when they played in Denver last year. I went with a friend and only knew a couple of their songs, but they are amazing live. It didn't even matter that I was hearing most of the music for the first time, it was all really really good, so much so that when I listen to the studio albums they pale in comparison.

Tough to say. Some of the more memorable ones recently would be:

M83 with School of Seven Bells @ The Earl in Atlanta
The xx with Phantogram @ The Wiltern in LA
Mogwai @ Workplay in Birmingham
Mew with Bear in Heaven @ Webster Hall in NYC
The National @ The Fox Theater in Atlanta

80's metal concerts were all over the top in stage presentation..
especially Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Alice Cooper.. all were HUGE into props and just mindblowing stages, lights, and pyro.

How I do miss the 80s and the metal scene back then.

Can't forget Judas Priest and Dio also....all of these guys were always trying to outdo each other with lasers, pyrotechnics and props...

Can't forget the inflatable Eddie on the Powerslave tour (Metallica opened when i saw them - Ride the Lightning just came out)...Dio's Last Line with the Pyramid stuff was pretty awesome as well...Priest had a pretty large getup for the Defenders of the Faith tour...

Yeah...I miss it too...

Ive heard that from a few people, but I have to say they were fantastic every time ive seen them. Who was the lineup when you saw them?

I remember Foo Fighters, Kid Rock, Velvet Revolver, Chris Cornell, Cypress Hill

Kid Rock probably had the best show (i'm not a fan), VR had the best song with a Patience cover.

Monotonix
Call Me Lightning
Terrior Bute
Centipedes

Just this past summer. I can not express how much fun this show was. I have been to literally 100s of shows ranging from small bars with 3 people there to stadium venues of the likes of U2 at their peak. This show just blew the doors off EVERYTHING.

Youtube up some Monotonix.

Other shows of note:

Quicksand w/ 7 Seconds

Redhot Chilipeppters/Pearl Jam/Smashing Pumpkins

The 1st time I saw Sunnyday Real Estate
The 1st time I saw Jeremy Enigk

U2 / Public Enemy

Any of the shows I saw with Clutch pre-2000

1) radiohead, bill graham civic auditorium in sf, winter 1997-98 (ok computer tour).
2) the pogues, some club in nyc in 1988.
3) stiff little fingers reunion show in nyc in about 1989.
4) butthole surfers, first avenue in minneapolis, 1985 or so.
5) minutemen (numerous shows), seventh street entry in minneapolis, 1984-1987.

The latter four are in no particular order and i've probably omitted something that deserves to be there.

intolerance live = :awe::awe::awe:

listening to that setlist right now actually.

Last time I saw them they did Flood live!!!

First time I saw them, and the best concert I have ever seen, they did nearly all of Opiate and all of Undertow. They also had Falilure and The Flaming Lips open for them. We met the band by accident, and my friend got punched in the throat. Finished up at La Palapita for tacos. Epic is epic.

Surfers were fun to go see. I also saw Ministry with BHS opening and Gibby did Jesus Built My Hotrod live.

I would have to say Gwar. Very entertaining show.

I was wondering if someone would say Gwar. Non-stop awesome!

Alice in Chains @ the Paradise in Boston was unreal. The place is tiny, I mean tiny, and they put on a 2 hr set with one 10 minute break, no opening band. Big  to that show

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Deftones earlier this year as well.

AIC is the only big band of the 1990s that I regret not seeing.

I've seen Flood (live) a few times now, and Intolerance is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. I can't believe how good it is live - probably my favorite on that album live.
