Most expensive toy of yours?

If you define a toy as something that you bought/have because you wanted vice needed it and it gives you enjoyment then I'd have to say the Lexus. I fell in love with the design when it first came out but couldn't stomach the price tag (over $50k at that time). I waited patiently until I found one with extremely low miles for well over 80% off.

All my ski gear combined, from skis, boots and equipment to clothes. I've spent over 4k in the last 2 years.

800 dollar skis, 450 for bindings (dynafits), 700 for boots. 120 for climbing skins, another 100 for adjustable poles. Then shovel and probe ~100 bucks and avy beacon for ~350.Clothes wise im cheap. Still have the same helly hansen pants from like 5 years ago that i paid 100 bucks for at end of season. Jacket was only 250 and has kept me plenty warm and dry on summits. Add in basic glacier gear and im right up there with you! Then i've got "rock" skis, skins for those (cheap though..300 for the pair), a pair of marker dukes (paid like 320), and old apline boots that were ~600.

Such an expensive hobby and thats not even including lift tickets/seasons passes. But hey its my main hobby/sport so cant complain to much!

over the years my computer and games win by far. but recently model trains have sucked up a bit of cash. one individual thing isn't so expensive, but all the little things I buy add up quick.

That's a 2nd reason it's my most expensive toy - I average throwing as much money into it each year as a few of the other toys in this thread cost. Just had to replace the starter on the motor. $430. The marina opened at 9, verified my diagnosis by 9:05, had the new starter sitting in the back by 9:10. And, at 9:15 I heard 4 words which a boat owner never wants to hear the mechanic say. I don't recall the four words, but I do recall my two words: "oh shit." To avoid shearing off either of those bolts, the block had to be heated, etc. 10 minutes of labor turned into 3 hours of labor. Had the bolts sheared off, it meant pulling the block. And that meant a very, very expensive repair for the time.

1pm, I was skimming over the lake at about 50mph with the wind in my hair - it was worth every penny.

I don't have any particularly expensive individual items, but my board game collection cost about $5000.

Oh, I'm a software developer. Board games are my only hobby, I drive an 8 year old Honda Civic.

My rifle is by far the most expensive thing I own, almost $4k. In comparison, my next most expensive item is a non-toy laptop costing $2k.

If I was in the US, I'd have paid $2.2k for that rifle.

Used to be bikes and racing, lately it's guitar stuff. That said, I don't spend vast sums on guitars because I'm too concerned with saving for the kids' college and whatnot. I don't think anything in my collection is worth more than $500 or so.

Lol, and I just do downhill skiing on groomed slopes. Sounds like you do alot of back country skiing which I have not tried yet. At this point I'm hesitant to go there bc if I like it, well there goes another grand or two that I'll end up spending in backcountry gear!!

The bulk of my purchases have been in clothing. I get cold easily and have invested in battery power boot heaters, arcteryx gear all around(shell pants and jacket) as well as merino wool base layers and other assorted layers. I think I have together quite a winning combo where I chose the right gear that keeps me warm all day and is not ultimately bulky and movement restricting.

If you consider PC to be toy, then a lot, its a perpetual expense close to $500 a year on average (excluding the games)
