My 2005 mustang GT I paid 22k for it 3 years ago. It only has 13k miles on it and only comes out on sunny days. it is mostly a weekend driver and I take it car shows.

I do desktop support for a large bank. 53k a year.

The desktop was built with gaming in mind and has an overclocked cpu. My video card is only a nvidia 460 but it's been fine for World or Warcraft and other games.

Definitely my boat(s), though both have been in the family 10+ years so they're long paid off. One was ~$15K new, the other ~$16K used. They haven't been particularly troublesome or expensive to maintain though, since I do a lot of it myself. We did spend $500 to get the throttle cable replaced on one last year and spent ~$600 this year on the other on various electrical issues. Those were the first repairs in a long time.

Not huge on gadgets - have a massive shoe collection of J's, SB's and other various shoes that has easily set me back $15 to $20K. Fortunately they are worth a fair bit more than I paid.

For electronics: Pioneer Elite SC-05 Receiver with ICE amplifiers.

And I'm a CPA working at a Post-IPO start up running SOX Compliance.

I'd say my server rack setup. No individual device is out of this world expensive but I've put quite a lot of cash into the setup as a whole. The main server (big 4U one in the middle) cost me maybe 2-3k to build 4 years ago and I've put more cash into it over the years such as expanding the raid array, replacing dying drives etc. BTW Hitachi Deathstars are called that for a reason, if you're going to use those, do raid 6 lol.

I probably put around 7k total into my setup, and always putting more. My next big project is to build the walls to finish that room, and also make it theft proof. Debating on overbuilt wood walls, or poured concrete. The concrete would add some sound proof value too.

That's a 2nd reason it's my most expensive toy - I average throwing as much money into it each year as a few of the other toys in this thread cost. Just had to replace the starter on the motor. $430. The marina opened at 9, verified my diagnosis by 9:05, had the new starter sitting in the back by 9:10. And, at 9:15 I heard 4 words which a boat owner never wants to hear the mechanic say. I don't recall the four words, but I do recall my two words: "oh shit." To avoid shearing off either of those bolts, the block had to be heated, etc. 10 minutes of labor turned into 3 hours of labor. Had the bolts sheared off, it meant pulling the block. And that meant a very, very expensive repair for the time.

1pm, I was skimming over the lake at about 50mph with the wind in my hair - it was worth every penny.

In my boat, I had to pull the motor to replace the starter.

I moved recently after being semi-homeless for a while, and my stuff's been in boxes, I'm gradually getting things back from friends who've been storing them. Friend brought over boxes of mine that have been in his garage for several years - my old microphone collection! I used to own a microphone store back in the 70's and there are some awesome things in there.

Probably have to sell them, but at the moment I'm feeling happy. Haven't found my camera yet in the sea of boxes or I'd post some pics.
