Agreed. Id get a 7 series or Audi WAAAAY Before a Phaeton. VW's blunder #2. 1st was the W8 Passat.

I think the article is part crap when it comes to the Phaeton. IMO the Phaeton has been quite underhyped in terms of capabilities and features. VW stupidly isn't doing any advertising of the amazing features it has. :disgust:

The X-Type and Ford Thunderbird are however certainly overhyped crap.

They didn't so much expalin why the x-type was overhyped. It may drag down jag's name with its high volumes, but my dad loves his.

The phaeton is something that has left everybody puzzled since its annoucement.

considering it has almost nothing to do with the taurus that is quite a feat. it's a mondeo. and yes, they shouldn't be making it.

I guess Forbes needs to go back to elementary school, because they don't even understand the definition of the words they use in their titles. Can someone please point me to specific examples of how the Phaeton is overhyped? Or even hyped?

I don't know, I sat in one and the interior looked nice. For the price, it's a pretty good deal, considering you get AWD and lots of creature comforts.

There may be other AWD sedans of similar size at that price point, I don't shop that segment of the market though so I don't know.

I know a fairly well-off couple that has one. They don't care it's a Ford in Jag's clothing, all they care about is "there's a jag in the garage".

I'm surprised it doesn't sell any better than it does.

Forbes needs to put down the rock if they think that the Hummer was overhyped. It sold very well when introduced and still does.
