Dave Matthews Band. Okay first off they are NOT and jam band that some fuck heads think that honestly compare DMB w/ Dead - I've been to over 20 Grateful Dead concerts and *that* was a jam band. Second what's up with that middle linebacker that plays fiddle. Not only does he suck at that he only plays a quarter the time and takes center stage all the time. Next is EMO Dave himself. Bitch sings nothing but misery and sorrow and sounds like he has the hick ups all the time. What's your take?

Most bands of the late 60s and 70s such as the Beatles and Pink Floyd. While they were great musicians, they are put on a pedestal by the demographic dominance of the baby boomer generation.

Again, don't flame, they were great awesome musicians, but people act like their music was beyond comparison to anything ever produced in the history of the world.

Springsteen played to a demographic better than almost anyone (working middle class). Although I'm not a fan, his music was pretty great, but he struck a chord with his listeners by playing the middle America blue collar image better than anyone. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, I'm only saying his marketing skills to his listeners was top notch.

Okay, so he was a good marketer, but you could argue the same about some of the greatest musical antiChrists like Yanni, Michael Bolton and Kenny G. Someone obviously buys their shit, but like with Springsteen, their appeal alludes me.
