Most overrated band ever?

The Killers is by far the most overrated band to ever exist. They suck on all levels and people treat them like the next coming of Mozart. Overrated in the context of the question means that the band is given accolades they did not earn. I'm not a big fan of the Beatles, but they earned the right to be the best selling artists of all time. Elvis earned the right to be called The King. Zeppelin earned the right to be the best rock band ever. The Killers didn't do shit besides dub themselves "most influential and important band" of the decade. If they weren't smug assholes, I probably wouldn't care, but their attitude of deserved praise for essentially being a mediocre indie band earns them nothing but my severe and unmitigated hate. AC/DC, on the other hand, continues to pump out good, predictable rock albums and expects nothing from anyone other than to have a good time. Has anyone ever heard of Clutch? They suck at self promotion, but you'll never see a better live show.

In closing, fuck The Killers.

Three Days Grace - Why these fuckers have any listeners is beyond me. Every. Single. Song. SOUNDS THE SAME. I tried listening to "One-X" all the way through, but I felt like I'd heard the whole thing after one track. Ugh.

Dave Matthews Band. Okay first off they are NOT and jam band that some fuck heads think that honestly compare DMB w/ Dead - I've been to over 20 Grateful Dead concerts and *that* was a jam band. Second what's up with that middle linebacker that plays fiddle. Not only does he suck at that he only plays a quarter the time and takes center stage all the time. Next is EMO Dave himself. Bitch sings nothing but misery and sorrow and sounds like he has the hick ups all the time. What's your take?

U2 is at the top of my list of overrated bands. Not a fan of Dave Matthews either. To each his own though, because I listen to alot of stuff that most people would hate also.

A staggering number of recording technologies were derived from what the Beatles and their crew came up with. I just cannot fathom how that kind of thing can be considered overrated when it's used by practically everyone still today.

I think there is a nomenclature disconnect for some people here.

Or they are the ones that got left behind by the "No one left behind" initiative.

I don't think bands like Black Eyed Peas are over-rated. They are extremely popular, but they suck as a band. That is not over-rated, that is idiot-rated. Too many idiots in the world with money but no musical appreciation buy their crap passed off as music.
