Jeff Anderson, whose computer formula is used to calculate the BCS standings, gave The Atlanta Journal Constitution the five teams he believes are the most overrated in the polls, and why:

1. Fresno State. Despite moral victories at USC and Oregon, it's hard to justify the polls' No. 22 ranking of a team that's beaten only three top-110 teams and zero top-50 teams, and lost to No. 57 Nevada.
2. LSU. Rule of thumb: You're probably not deserving of the No. 3 ranking if you're one of the few teams Tennessee managed to beat this season.
3. Louisville. The Cardinals have beaten exactly one team with a winning record (No. 55 Rutgers) and lost to No. 41 South Florida. Yet, they're ranked No. 17 by the polls.
4. Clemson. Oklahoma (7-4) has played the nation's toughest schedule, Northwestern (7-4) has played the third-toughest, Minnesota (7-4) has played the eighth-toughest and Georgia Tech (7-4) has played the ninth-toughest. But the polls rank all of them behind 7-4 Clemson, whose schedule has been the 34th-toughest.
5. Notre Dame. The Irish are no longer as overrated as they've been for a lot of this season, but No. 7 is still awfully high for a team with one win vs. the top 35 and a loss to No. 40 Michigan State.
