You need to try strawberries from other countries. It's not all the same. US strawberries are usually little sour and finding sweet ones are difficult even in peak season. Strawberries in Korea and Japan are so much better. If you ever visit, try the strawberries there if it's in season. I think you'll be shocked at the flavor difference. You'll realize this is what strawberries are supposed to taste like, sweet and juicy. Not sour and bland like US strawberries. Of course, you'll pay arm and a leg for any fruit there. But things like strawberries are worth the extra price.

I remember going to a market in Rome when strawberry season just hit. It was like opening the door to a wall of bright red. Some of the best strawberries I've ever had. That's what I loved about Italy. You only ate what was in season. Not like here where we get some shit fruit all year round sometimes.

Question for the koreans: do you guys eat jacked-up stuff only if it comes from the ocean?

I work with deer mice and our primary projects involve "reproductivity"...so we're working with mouse sperm and oocytes on a regular basis.

If I shipped some mouse ovaries, testicles, semen, eggs, etc to you, would you guys find a way to eat them?

Koreans are the Italian and Irish of Asia. They live in a peninsula like Italians, love food and romance. They're pretty creative with arts, music, and film. They can be very violent and hot tempered and drink alcohol like fish. But they're not savages with no taste.

They'll practically eat anything from the ocean. But they expect fresh seafood. Most seafood restaurants will have tanks with live seafood onsite. They use the whole fish. They throw away the bitter organs, use the head, bones, and tail for broth, and eat the flesh. They do it right. Sperms and eggs are part of the fish and add great texture and taste. What you might consider gross is just seafood.

They don't eat mice. Not that I'm aware of. But I'm sure if you marketed it as some sort of health food, they'll eat it. I've learned people will eat anything if you tell them it's good for them.

well, the ovaries would be from superovulated females, so jacked up on cow and human hormones. I think I could convince enough people that such ovaries would make them super fertile.

(same hormones used in human IVF and, apparently, one of them is used by meathead steroid freaks to blast their muscles or whatever....I found some strange stuff on the internet when trying to confirm storage conditions after one of our vials was left out a bit longer than usual...)

I forgot about kale. Definitely a trendy and overrated weed.

I like kale but similar to Avocado, certain people think it needs to be in everything. Kale usually needs to be boiled or sauteed vigorously to remove the stink, but too often people want to toss it in salad, raw. Savages!

The only time I use it is in a quick and cheap ginger/garlic chicken stir fry that I make with red peppers. Sometimes I use bok choy or brocoli, but I will also use kale. just depends on what is available when I'm at the store.

Kale chips can be pretty good. I got some free range, organic chips from BigLots recently, and they were excellent, but spendy for BigLots. Wasteful packaging too. I wouldn't have wanted to pay full retail.

Edit:
It was these...

They list at $6. I think I paid ~$2.80

Probably want to cross Asia off. Africa too. Germany, Hungary, Austria, France, Iceland, Scotland, England, Finland, etc.

Fuck it just stay home and eat fruit loops

LOL. I have been to a few countries in Asia and some of the foods they eat...shall we say...interesting and unique.

Lobster and shrimp prices are not all that different. And I don't like warm water lobsters and won't pay any money for it. Lobsters need to be the cold water variety.

The ultimate xxxxxx (usually Mexican food).
Ultimate or super to me means bigger. You can get a regular one or pay a dollar extra for a super or another dollar for the ultimate but they are all the same size (they just put more ingredients and less quantities of each).

I hate this fad going around making everything into a burrito.

It's not a new invention if you wrap a tortilla around it and you also just ruin what pho is all about, the broth.

does this mean that the famous shanghia soup dumplings should never happen?

..not that I disagree. That pho burrito looks like it has no broth. so yeah, what's the point? ...it would probably be dangerous to try an eat a normal-sized burrito loaded with broth.

The non-burrito burritos that I have liked are Indian curry/chutney burritos, which you can sometimes find with a "naan" wrap. Those things are damn delicious and the cuisine really does lend itself well to the burrito delivery-system. at the end of the day, do you really care what's inside that burrito at 1 am when you are drunk off of your ass?
