Inspired by the "most underrated game of the year" thread, I'm curious which game you spent the most time with this year. So in order to make this thread a little more interesting lets:
1) List your game.
2) Detail why you spent so much time with it.
3) Runner-up.
I'll start things off...
The game I spent the most time with this year is Mass Effect. That's right--a 2007 game is my most played game of the year. I beat it twice (back-to-back playthroughs) on the console and they twice on the PC. I just cannot get enough of this game.
- I love how the conversation system keeps you interested in what's going to be said and is also compeltely skipable the entire length of the game (sans a few in-game cutscenes).
- Obviously the combination of the class systems and the Paragon or Renegade allow many different paths to take. Playing as a Vanguard is like playing as a god if you play your cards right.
- The most underrated part of the game--the score! I LOVE the music in this game. It's so contemporary-Blade-Runner and enjoyable I actually got the soundtrack for it and have it on my iPod!
- Though limited in scope, I love the exploration in the game in the space flight areas. being able to examine and "explore" planets just gives me astronomy boner.
Runner-up: Pixel Junk Mosters
