Most played Game?

What is the most played game ever? Tetris?
What about New PC games like Half-life, Quake, Doom and warcraft?

Anyone got a site or link with stats like this?

Probably solitare is #1.
I'm sure Counter-Strike is on that list somewhere because it had such a huge following. BF1942 is probably on there now... especially once the 1.2 patch comes out.
Also all of the Quake series since that kinda started the online FPS.

My guess would be Pong or Pac-man. I'll go with Pac Man. Who hasn't played this atleast once?

I'd also bet mario 64 was one of the top ones. That was a killer ap. As was Killer Instinct for the N64.

You have to go with Killer Apps to narrow it down is my guess. The games that sold systems.

People don't seem to understand that there will be another PC boom is around the corner.....with the release of Doom 3. I try convincing people with no luck. Doom 3 will be another kiler ap that sells high end PCs. Alot of earnings estimates will be blown away next year.

In the end.... Wow, I have no idea. This is a good question.

no way you could keep track of most played games ever... you might be able to get better information on multiplayer stats, as i think that warcraft 3 has the most (1 million registered players) so far, which is surprising, concerning the difficulty of the game. Of course that's not quite fair, considering any newer games nowadays will have a better multiplayer gameplay numbers because of the more people connected to the internet nowadays.

If you can login to gamespy's servers, check out counter strike!!!! there is 3000+ servers running 24hrs/7days. Altough most of them are empty, there are quite a few with 20+/- playas... That game had been out for 3 years and still kicks major a$$<----U Gotta give it some credit!!! I haven't encountered a PC FPS game that would last more than 2 years and still seats on top as the most played FPS game.

it's been out for more than three years there buddie, just the retail has been out that long (since 1.0) there was beta testing for probably another 3 years before that.
