Dark fall holy wars is fun. I got a 30day trial from reddit user and i played for 6 hours straight, longest i've played a game in a long time.

It has its downsides like lots of MMO, but what I like about it is, the downsides make you more interested in the game. Say what you will, but getting killed because you did something stupid makes for a interesting game.

I also LOVE the fact that any player can kill another player and not based on level. No farming of items, etc.

I don't know if its worth paying for though, you almost have to clan up in the game, but clans are so picky hard to find one.

I think if people want crafting to really matter, then Eve is a good choice. If you want a PvP oriented game where you pretty much are not safe anywhere (just more safe and less safe areas), then again Eve is a good choice.

Eve has only so so solo content (better today than it used to be). As a "military" sim, mass combat where the bigger blob usually wins is very common, and belonging to the right group is important. There is no need to play it so seriously (Martimus and I were both in a low sec pirate alliance that played for fun, not universal domination).

The real downside is that you can get screwed out of months or even years of hard work in moments. One political back stab or change in leadership, and you could lose assets you spend ages building up. That can be a very bitter pill to swallow.

PvP also can have severe consequences. We have had people break down and cry on vent over losses.

Finally, the UI has improved a lot since I started, but it still is a chore to play at times. I have not tried anything recent, maybe that has become even better.

There's a surge of players going to RIFT now that it's F2P. I'm really liking it so far. They do a lot of things right.

I hadn't played in about 18 months. Sucks cuz I was on top of the game when I quit, but already 5 bars into lvl 53.

Vanguard?

Played it. I was probably one of the first monk/orc types to ever level to max, just the game was sooo unpolished when it launched, i was pretty disappointed, but there was a lot of good to come out of that game. Probably one of the better crafting systems ever in an MMO.

Yeah I'll most likely go from 50-60 in under 10 days and have the merc PvP set right away. Nobody seems to raid on seastrike though so I'm not sure how I'm going to fill my sigil. And it looks like I need both an AP and crit sigil for different roles since they added the crit power stat which makes my assassin build useless.

Anyone gonna play WarZ? It's under $4 on Steam. Not sure how popular it will be but hopefully they keep working on it to improve and add features.

It is the worst game in the world. Its metacritic is 20/100. Just watch the crap videos online.

I wonder what are these people like in real life, if they can break down over game content.

Pure garbage, developed by pure garbage.

hater. Never played it did ya. It's developed by a newer developer, Hammerpoint Interactive...so how is a new developer with experienced employees suddenly garbage? Oh yeah, you hater that's why.
I find the game to run great and like it overall, like all new MMO's it has it's issues.

Hammerpoint Interactive is a startup game development company formed in early 2011
by industry veterans with decades of combined game development experience. Prior to forming Hammerpoint, members of the team worked on titles, such as Call of Duty BlackOps and BlackOps2, Star Trek Online, League of Legends, World of Tanks, Guitar Hero, MechWarrior (yes the old ones) and more.
The team is currently working on two games - one of them being The War Z and another that has not yet been announced.

Normally about an average age of 20-40.

You would cry too when you happen to lose a ship that you spent 3 months saving up toward and then a day later lost it in a single engagement.

I've done that, tears running down my cheeks, and had to rage quit Eve for a bit.

3 months of work gone in an instant.

MMOs are so much fun at first but eventually become a drag. EQ is still my favorite with Rift and DAoC and Age Of Wushu close behind.

EQ because of the huge world, best dungeons to this day of any MMO and how much an adventure the game was. Had a necro, monk and shaman. I loved reading the message boards at work to learn about the next dungeon or zone and then getting home and finally heading out to that remote dungeon and finding a group. The dungeons are what kept me interested for so long. Nothing like chilling out in Guk, SolA/B, OS to camp a rare spawn. Raids were insane with hundreds of people in ooc or shout channel.

I played RIFT at Head Start and stopped at 6/11 HK. Tried again with the expansion but lost interest after finishing the first 10 man dungeon. I love the soul concept but I found the game very boring when not raiding. If they had dungeons like EQ I might have stayed.

Age of Wushu is the current MMO of interest. I love the complexity of the game and Guild Wars are a total riot. But I'm a bit turned off by the amount of certs I will need to get through the 3rd inner so I kind of have lost interest lately. At least with the 2nd inner you had quests to get you to 31 then you could use certs to get to 36. Also the instances are quite long and get a bit tedious with some bosses where you can only spam parry break. After spending 4 hours at Longmen to get 2 bosses I said no more lol.

Played many others along the way but eventually they all get boring at some point.

I enjoy DragonNest alot.

Dragon Nest is easily the best MMO out there in terms of gameplay, the PvP in particular is just leagues above everything else, its completely skill based and has an insanely high skill ceiling (you will get absolutely raped by good players and probably blame it on your class or something if you dont know what you are doing)

I bet most people dismiss it just on the anime graphics though because "omg kiddie game"
Its impossible to go back to normal MMO combat after youve played DN, you start to fall asleep 10 mins in with that boring tab target crap

Tera is also good and I played it for a few months when it was p2p, but it seriously lacks content and the community is absolute shit (and I imagine it got even worse after f2p)
So I cant recommend it as a long term "investment"

Just because someone has worked on a project does not mean its a good game. Those "experienced" employees could be interns getting coffee.

It truly is a crappy game, just look at all the reviews and videos on youtube.
