Most profitable way to offload games?

I guess "profitable" isn't the right word. Basically I just want to sell some of my old games (God of War 1 & 2, etc) and get more than $2 for them from Gamestop. Is my only option ebay really?

Craigslist if you don't mind dealing with actual humans. I find CL is the place you can get closest to what you actually payed for the item. That's why you see all the ads for $500 PS2 bundles, because people actually pay that much, and often.

half.com has worked pretty well for me in the past. It may take a little while for the game to sell but I dumped a bunch of ps2 games for around 7-15 dollars each.

Depends on your area.

The people in my area are stupid and cheap. I could put a new release video game (that retails for $60) up for $20, and they'd still try to haggle me to $10.

Craigslist in my area sucks so freakin bad.

Maybe they're just stupid. Put a game up for $70 and let them haggle you to $50

CL and Kajiji, swap meets, garage sales. I've sold a few things on Kajiji and I've gotten good money for them. Not games though.

I put all my games on Goozex so I can get legit value for them, although in the form of other games, rather than cash.

I've been giving Goozex a try. I sent away Gears of War, got 250 points and I'm trying to use them to get Crackdown and Saints Row (I lost my original copy). The site found a match for both the games but they never accepted it and let the 26 hours pass and it says there are no others available... So now I'm out a game and nothing to spend my points on.

I sold my entire PS2 collection, except for a few games, on Amazon not too long ago. The prices were pretty good.

Just wait for another match to come down the pipe - those aren't rare games.

I admit, Goozex is obnoxious for finding rarer games, but if you like popular stuff and you're a year behind the times, it's awesome.

Goozex all the way, I love it. The only thing that is a problem, is trying to get new games as soon as they come out. However, if you are impatient like me, and just go out and buy it to find out its a p.o.s., you can put it on goozex right away and get your 1000 points easily out of it.
And when you are on a waiting list for a game,.. just because you are 82nd or something in line... doesn't mean there are 82 people in front of you. 2 days ago my want list said my wait for Ghostbusters the game was "very long wait". The next day I got an email it was on its way. Same thing happened with Bound in Blood. One day I was 47, next it was on its way. The good thing with new games that you have to offer, get snatched up fast. In my first 3 weeks of joining Goozex, I had over 5000 points accumlated.

And now with the addition of movies... Goozex should take over game and movie trading, like Netflix did for renting movies. Its just the ease of use,.. its all pretty much from your home.

Well gamestop isn't bad now since they have a special trade in 3 games and get a extra 10 dollars and trade in 4 games and get 20.

Ya, it found 2 more matches for me fairly quickly and they are already shipped. I'm happy. All I had to do was send away Gears of War (shipping cost me $7) and I never played the game anyways, and spent $5 on some more points.

So it cost me $12 to get 1 game that I really like and one game that I've been dying to try (crackdown).

OP if you are looking to buy new games, gamestop isn't awful if the game you want has a bonus. You can sometimes get 40% more for your trades if you trade it in toward something new/preorder

They had a promotion not too long ago, trade in more than 5 or 6 games and you get an extra 30 percent in credit. I had a friend who works there and I used someone elses edge card to get an extra 10 percent on top of that, and I put the credit towards reserving the new Madden (which I canceled the next day) and got another extra 20 percent. I got more than $150 in store credit for trading in a bunch of random DS games I had.

You just gotta wait for gamestop to have these awesome promotions.
