You must be some kind of McDonald's corporate shrill or something. Never seen someone defend them so hard.

"Shrill?"

Grant Imahara fan. I watched the video one time, almost 2 years ago. I came to a realization and felt ashamed for ignorantly repeating the same things you do, demonizing "processed food" and fast food. It's so easy to get on the bandwagon and say [this/that]=BAD!

That site wants me to allow like 30 script URLs so can't see the video and don't feel like screwing with that, but clearly they will only be allowed to talk about the good and not the bad. If they were allowed to talk or mention specific brands then they probably got the permission based on some conditions such as making sure it's positive.

Have you ever seen the farms these animals come from? Their meat is pretty much "processed" before they're even killed. Steroids, antibiotics, and lot of other crap is force fed to them, they can't move, they shit on each other etc, it's far from healthy meat even before they're even slaughtered and then have any extra crap injected into it. You are what you eat, that applies to what your food eats too.

It's a pretty well known and established fact that fast food and processed food is not good for your health, seems odd to try to dispute that.

The happiest pigs you can eat from a big national chain: Chipotle Mexican Grill

Isn't Chipotle being rocked by a huge food safety scare?

Answer: Yes.

Answer: Yes.

Also, McDonald's once held a controlling stake in Chipotle Mexican Grill. The happiest pigs you could eat without raising it yourself essentially came from... McDonald's!

Such delicious irony. Delicious. Deli-

I want Chipotle.

Watch it from your phone then.

Anyway, the pigs you get from grocery store pork are no better raised than the pigs you get from fast food. Duh. Not unless you go out of your way for organic happy free-range non-GMO grain-fed goodness never-frozen primo stuff, which you can also do with fast food. Treating fast food like some completely different demon because of something that usually applies just as readily to something you prepare in your home hurts your argument and further proves your irrationality.

Ham has always been a sweet meat that often gets served even sweeter. Ever hear of "Honey-baked Ham?" We have a chain of "Honey-baked Ham" stores that sell a particularly popular variety that thousands of people take home for holidays.

Well, that is perfectly fine when i make the decision to buy honey baked ham. But when i buy ordinary ham, i do not want sugar in it.

Ham and even *gasp*! bacon is traditionally cured with sugar.

as Bobber and CZRoe said: it isn't that sugar is inherently bad, it's the ubiquity of it and post-consumption lifestyle.

I do not want sugar in my meat. When i was a kid, it was not the case. I do not want it now.
When i read the label, i see dextrose , glucose-fructose syrup and cane sugar added. And salt. I will add whatever herb i like on it, but i want it sugarless , like it supposed to be. My freedom of choice. Is that hard to understand ?

ham is usually sugared to offset the salt, i would think. ham is *really* salty, especially hams that have been traditionally cured in relatively elevated humidity areas (such as much of the eastern US). country ham is downright inedible unless you soak the salt out of it prior to eating.

You would be surprised how much salt is in a can of green beans.

Processed food can really be bad for you it has a lot of chemical and preservatives.

Examples:
Margarine
Cool Whip
Food mixes

They say strawberries are full of pesticides and fertilizer. So maybe fresh fruit is not so great.

My daughter was telling me not only is Ramien full of sodium, but somehow they use wax to coat the noodles. I said What?

Like you, I do not like sweet meat. It's why I don't like ham. Ham is almost always sweetened. You expressed surprise when you discovered that it was sweetened, we expressed surprise that you didn't already know that. No one here is denying you your choice. Ham has normally been sweetened for decades. It's not just Honey Baked Ham.

I believe it that ham is sweetened, but i also believe it is much more sweeter now then it was. I always remember ordinary ham as not being sweet.
I do not eat ham often because of the reason that it gives me acne. I hardly eat it.
There is also halal and kosher meat.
Maybe i should look into that what kind of ingredients are used.

As a side note :
I do know that with Ben and Jerry's icecream i never have any acne issue, even if i empty a whole bucket in an evening of movie viewing.
If i do that with other icecream brands, i am having acne all over.
I do know that they use higher quality ingredients in Ben and Jerry's icecream.

Interesting thing is that it also seems to have a little kosher label on it. A K with the text dairy.

Facts:
1. Foods that have salt on their surfaces (chips, French fries) or salted liquids (soups, sport drinks) taste much more salty than foods with the same amount of salt hidden deeply in the food (bread, meat).
2. The current recommendation from American Heart Association is less than 1.5 g sodium (<3.8 g salt) per day.
3. The effectiveness of low-sodium diets in preventing heart disease or high blood pressure been questioned lately.
Some more facts about sodium on Nutrients Review.

I love bread and a type of mineral water that has quite some sodium in it and I'm totally not concerned about it. I never add salt to anything, though.

It is something in snacks and fast foods that is addictive and makes you buy and eat more: I believe it's a combination of salt, sugar, some spices and lack of fiber and hence easy to chew.

Almost everything that doesn't directly contradict with Kosher dietary guidelines has the Kosher symbol here in the USA. You won't find the little U in a circle on a pork product but you will find it on just about any cereal box or candy bar or dairy product or oatmeal or tea or soda...
