I've only watched 20 minutes of that. Does it get better?

No, absolutely not. I'm not one that's all too picky about movies but this one did not deserve the hype it got. It was so long and drawn out (dare I say, boring) that I could barely make it through the whole thing without falling asleep. Bloody English need to learn how to make a horror movie.

definately thought it got boring. there, i said it.

omg i was just thinking that right before i clicked on this topic lol. btw i read somewhere that it wasnt advertised that much here in the US because the company said since it was first released overseas and was making money, they didnt want to risk payin all the advertising here in the US in case it failed (which i highly doubt it would have). cool movie, thought provoking, and a nice spin off of fahrenheit 451.

The Station Agent just had a good solid story, with an excellent cast...character driven, but each person pulled their own weight. The Singing Detective was all Robert Downey Jr., and he was awesome...Mel Gibson and Katie Holmes had interesting parts, but nothing huge. Just an interesting (albeit wacko) movie.

I've heard that the Station Agent is great, too. Nobody ever talks about it, except for on movie sites.

Oh and I suppose the likes of Alien isn?t good enough of a horror movie (Ridley Scott - English btw). Also Alfred Hitchcock didn't know much either.
It actually hits home more when you know the places in the film. If it were in your state or say NYC it would have more impact for you. And not all horrors have to be in your face slice n dice, guns blazing churned out crap either.

Life of David Gale & City of God were very underrated. Equilibrium had little backing, but it wasn't anything special imho.

Whatever movie this was, this gets my vote.

My honest answer: Kill Bill. I hadn't even heard of it until my boss came in raving about it. I saw it 5 times after that.

Negative. Kill Bill, IMO, is overrated.

I say Last Samurai.

Negative on your point. Any Tom Cruise movie is hyped/rated out the a$$. Everyone knows it's going to sell well in the theatre. The poll was for most underrated movie, not most popular of the year. I saw Kill Bill expecting nothing at all, as I had heard and seen almost nothing about it. I walked in with very low expectations and was extremely impressed. I walked into The Last Samauri with huge expectations and got exactly what I expected. Kill Bill went above and beyond, The Last Samauri delivered what was expected. In the end, Kill Bill was only slightly better; but I had rated it much lower on my scale before seeing it than I did for The Last Samauri

But was it hyped/rated out the ass? Maybe, but it didnt near the "attention" that Kill Bill got for its pure sh!t for substance. I saw Kill Bill expecting some awesomely wonderful Tarantino flick and left feeling uninspired and like I had wasted 110 minutes of my life. Kill Bill definitely did not go above and beyond, it feel far short.

Enough said.
