Ohhhhhhh SHIT!

I almost forgot about this little gem...

Star Wars: Empire at War + Forces of Corruption

I spent a lot of time in galactic conquest with 43 planets

Perhaps, but on the Internet, the MikeGayner screams louder than the lovers.

LOL still upset because I'm not impressed by your precious Borderlands?

It probably has more to do with the fact that you do nothing but trash in every thread you come to. you are a cross between pointifex and arcadio.

I could get on my knees and lick the balls of every hyped game, but I'm not going to. Look through my posts in this thread - I trash the shit that genuinely sucks ass, and am positive toward the games that kick ass.

Now you are straight lying to yourself. Check your own posts sometime. Obviously I'm not the only one that notices your attitude.

Someone needs to help you get that sand out of your vagina.

Ick, IP was a terribad game.

You have to actually like adventure games/story driven games and you will like this. From what I've seen you are the minority

Maybe you should go back over and rag on Borderlands a little more.

Obviously, your parental unit never imparted the "If you don't have anything nice to say..." lesson in life to you.

The rest of it is "don't say anything at all." btw. It's pretty sage advice.

That WAS NOT underrated. It was crap, a big disappointment.

For me, I think Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil, and the Penumbra series. All were and are great story driven experiences.

Actually I rather liked Star Wars: Empires at War and its expansion, the space combat and galactic conquest modes were great. Land combat is alright too.

I'm playing Titan Quest right now. With all the hype that Diablo 2 got and the fact (IMO) that Titan Quest improves upon Diablo 2, I'm surprised that it's not uber-rated. I don't play it any more, but I thought Star Wars Pod Racer was a good, yet underrated, game.

I enjoyed both of those games. If the Star Wars game didn't have the title "Star Wars" in it, it probably would have done better. It had some fun gameplay, but the name made it sound like it would be a crappy derivitive game.

Not sure if this is too late for most, but Titan Quest Gold is on sale until tomorrow for 9.99 on Steam.

thank you for that, i just got in on titan quest gold to see what everyone is raving about. gotta be worth the $10 at the very least.

btw, what's with the low metacritic score on this game? only got a 77, but the expansion pack got 80.

It's a solid game but there were some issues with the original. Most of them were addressed in the expansion pack. I never played it before the expansion pack but the important things, IIRC, are the Dream skill tree, extra Act and the big one is transferring items to other characters via your shared backpack.

the improvements brought on by the expansion were also applied to the original right? i am going to play the original first.

I would recommend just loading up the expansion version. The Act they added is at the end so you play it as if you were playing the original with extra bit a the end. I wouldn't recommend just playing the original as you wouldn't have access to things like artifacts and you wouldn't be able to save good weapons for your other characters (if you decide to play through it with another build like a barbarian).
Hells yeah, one of the few games that was completely improved by an expansion and made more playable. Adding artifacts was good. Adding storage was great. Allowing the storage to transfer between characters was brilliant, and something I missed very much in similar games.

Yes, definitely start with the expansion; don't even bother with the original. Just like Diablo 2, the TQ expansion makes changes right from the start. It does add an additional act to the end of the game, but it's not played as a completely separate expansion like a lot of games.

As a HUGE Star Wars fan, I loved the game. The space combat was super fun but the land combat was a bit meh. But still, I just love sending a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers to blow the shit out of a fleet!

Agreed. The infantry combat is decent, the weapons are well-done (I love how you have to click the fire button again to cycle the bolt), vehicle combat is awesome (armor angles, bullet drop at range), and the maps are awesome.

Supreme Commander. Best RTS to date, probably still will be better than Starcraft 2 (although maybe not the subsequent and inevitable custom games).

I have to agree, i am looking forward to supcom2.

another severely underrated game is Enemy Territory : Quake Wars.

That game is fantastic!
