Most underrated PC games you own

For me, I think Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil, and the Penumbra series. All were and are great story driven experiences.

I second the Penumbra series. Absolutely creepy atmosphere. I could not get into Beyond Good and Evil. It was too WTF for me.

Colonization (Sid Meier).

The redux one was fantastic. It sucked 75+ hours out of my life.

What are some of the underrated PC games in your collection? I fired up a game of Medal of Honor Airborne today and played the first few levels in the campaign - this game, IMO, was seriously underrated by the critics and the public. It's one of the most fun and atmospheric FPS games available. Turn up the 5.1 audio, turn out the lights and enjoy the show. It has great graphics and the audio is some of the best in the business. I don't understand why this game was so harshly criticised by so many people.

STALKER shadow of Chernobyl which I bought for $5 on steam...... probably the best $5 I have ever spent on a game.

Great RPG strategy and storyline.

The Stalker complete 2009 mod (with steam installer) made it even better.

In fact, I am already having a hard time believing Fallout 3 GOTY could be better than this one.

At the time they were released I would say that a lot of the games in this thread were given a very appropriate level of enthusiasm - good reviews and plenty of sales. I'd agree with NOLF being a series that deserved more attention then it received.

Grim Fandango comes to mind for me as a game that was extremely highly reviewed but flopped commercially. In fact, many think the failure of Grim Fandango is what led to Lucas Arts stepping away from adventure games.
