Well guys, it's time time again(no, not that time Ray); we're nearing Team Anandtech's birthday. As our extremely sucessful Year 4 comes to an end, it's time to prepare for the main festivity of our birthday, the Most Valuable Cracker contest.

The MVC contest was estabilished at the end of the first year year in order to honor those that put forth all the energy they could for TA; by doing such things as cracking an amazing amount of WU's for TA, organizing new members, or even someone who provides moral support; the conditions are endless. So, these people are honored by bestowing the titles of Most Valuable Cracker, and 9 other Highly Valuable Crackers.

This award(won by OhioDude last year) is handed out as early as possible on Dec. 26(upon which time voting ends); TA's birthday, to which the HVCs get a day's worth of WUs in whatever project from myself from myself(and a week's worth for the MVC), along with any other blocks that come from other member's admiration.

The rules for voting go like this: Each member of Team Anandtech is entitled to 5 votes, where none can be for themself. Each vote is fully equal, and order doesn't matter. You may vote for anyone that's a TA member, and a reason for that vote is reccomended, in order to get more people to vote that way.

Also, you retain the right to change your vote any time between now, and when the contest results are annouced. The person with the most votes wins the title of MVC of Year 4; whereas the 9 closest runner-ups each get the title of HVC.

Being chosen as a MVC or HVC is considered a great honor by most, so pick carefully.:Q Good luck to everyone, and here's to a happy birthday for Team Anandtech!

PS Anyone wanting to do a secret ballot can email their votes to me, and I'll add them to a tally and delete the email accordingly

PPS No, MoFunk, you don't have to be White. Anyone can win, even more alien members like Ray

I nominate Smokeball, Engineer, OhioDude, Micron, HellBurner, and one vote to all my great Team Anandtech mates, no matter what project you are running .

Oh, could I be Seargent at Arms? That way I can use my cane.

Could I nominate myself to be "honorary cane whacker" if I can't be Seargent at Arms?

I cast a ballot for Mastertech for reviving D2OL and for quite possibly delivering a first place Team Anandtech by the new year

I vote for Smokeball because of the amount of work he has done in all areas for the TeAm. He runs an outstanding stats page for individual SETI TeAm members. He runs another stats page for a full team analysis. He is active in recruiting new members, making them feel welcome (I'm sure you've seen his "welcome to the team" threads), and helping them get started (TeAm mentors). His efforts have gone far to energize the rest of the TeAm and get our morale up.

He networks. He talks to the mods. He talks to the SETI brass. He keeps his eyes peeled for "abnormally large production" *cough* Sith Lords *cough.

He has his hand in just about everything with the SETI TeAm.

Not to mention the fact that he is just about the most respectful, most involved, most enthusiastic, and certainly the most humble member I can remember ever having on the team. And I've been here a long time.

His presence makes me proud to be a part of this TeAm.

Meremortal - For his DC rankings page, ECCP & D2OL stats, TACO, and all the other selfless things he does to promote the TEAM and not just any one project.
MasterTech - Holds the spirit of the D2OL team in his heart and almost single handedly propelled the D2OL team to greatness.
Insidious - Organized the ATWE race in DF which has done wonders for the teams production.
m0ti - Runs the DF stats, working on add on programs for DF, and holds the spirit of the DF team in his heart.
Networkman - Have to love that license plate.

My votes to:

Shuxclams - For initiating the "Enterprise" Beowulf project and other regular encouragement
LANMAN - For coordinating the above mentioned "Enterprise" project and hosting it
mastertech01 - For really rallying the troops for the D2OL project
MereMortal - For involvement with TACO, and key involvement with various DC projects
Baldy18 - For being a stats keeper and source of encouragement for the TeAm

Obviously, five votes really isn't enough to cover all of the very worthy candidates for this award.

- MereMortal - my silent partner during the PowerPot auction representing the TA Freedom Fighters, part of TACO, his stats are everywhere...

- networkman - his dedication to the cause is unquestioned!

- mastertech01 - for his efforts behind the success of the D2OL project and contributing to a (soon-to-be) first place standing!

- engineer - what can you say about this guy... I don't do the project that he pushes, but he's damned persuasive! more More MORE!

- David McOwen

Not to rain on the parade, but I can't vote for just some of the people who merit a nomination for any reason. To vote for just five of them is to put down the contributions of the rest. Or that's what my heart tells me, anyway.

I don't mind as much voting for things like logos, slogans, server names... but I'm going to bow out on this one, as usual. To all the nominees, you're most valuable in my eyes, each in your own way. Keep it up.

Oh, and I do vote for Whackmaster Ray as Sergeant At Arms, he and his cane are a natural in that capacity. But RaySun2Be, please do be sure the safety's engaged on the hidden InstaGib rifle, ok? :Q

Oh, yeah, I forgot about this contest. Let's see...

MereMortal - For the above and for sticking with ECCp stats almost through the end.
EvilWobbles - Because his FTP server saved the Wildnet
Smokeball - Needs that green mask, because he's Smokin'
Soni - For his great stats

And finally

Everyone else I left out - For making a great TeAm!

Subject to change up until the deadline.

I have only been full time with DC for a few months so my choices may not reflect the many projects that I am sure have superior members who contribute every day to the success of thier project. But from my short experience here are my choices and they are but a few of the total.

MereMortal for contrubuting to every project in one way or another, for statistics, helpfull advice and cruncher power in TACO.

Geoffs...for superb sportsman like conduct, great TeAm promoter, huge logistical contributions in his large farm, and TeAm motivator when the going gets rough. Also for the daily contribution to D2OL in the MileMakers stats.

Baldy18... a contributor to many projects, supports and encourages people from all around the DC family, offers helpfull advice and contributes daily to the TeAm D2OL with statistics, even when D2OL is not his primary DC project. That is commitment and his enthusiasm is always refreshing.

Engineer.. this man is pure motivation and a great kind friend to all. His presence on the DC forum benefits all.

Networkman.. I know Rich not only as a great DC contributor to multiple projects, but also as a great FS/trade trader, and overall contributor to the forums. His enthusiasm and logistical contributions would be extremely difficult to match. This is a man deserving of Elite member as well.

I could easily mention about 100 more but these are the ones that stick in my head the most.

Wow, I don't know if I can name just 5. First I would like to say that you ALL are worthy of a vote. But maybe I can think of a couple.

First, MechBgon for giving us all the wonderfull avatars. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have my wolfie

Second, Smokeball For giving us one of the best stats pages yet.

Third, RaySun2Be For being a true friend in times of need. Even when he is in need himself.

Forth, Orange Kid For giving us a wonderfull stats page and seti queue. (And dealing with the weather that I deal with. )

Fifth, Engineer For giving us that extra push to recruit more members and larger herds.

Again, I would like to extend my congrats to the entire team. I have been here for a while and I still consider a lot of you my friends. You all know who you are. And you all deserve it. Long live the TA cow.
