There's a pretty sick Japanese movie called "Iron Man" where a woman impales "herself" on a man's member which has turned into a big drill. That one's pretty disgusting.

A few scenes in Romper Stomper are pretty brutal too, "Let's break some fingers...".

also, The Hills Have Eyes has some violent/disburbing scenes. The one in the RV was pretty disturbing and violent.

and as someone else also said, Saving Private Ryan's opening scene was extremely violent and I remember how shocked I was the first time I saw that scene.

Saving Private Ryan and Amerian History X were the first to pop up in my mind too

In Casino, (spoiler, obviously) where they strip down Joe Pesci's character and some other guy, beat them up with baseball bats and roll their bloody bodies into a hole.
I watch that movie every so often but just skip that part.

It really disturbed me.

Opening scene of Saving Private Ryan... I think because it puts you in a very realistic situation where all sorts of bad things are happening and this forces you to accept that this probably DID happen. Other movies are are more fictional and allow a disassociation with the violence.

Totally irrelevant that is isn't visually graphic ... the sound was really the effect that took it so far.

that movie was irreversible, and it was monica bellucci.

i'll second that nomination, just because of how long and drawn out the rape and the various beatings were. He literally bashes at his face with that fire extinguisher for 5 minutes, until it becomes an unidentifiable, pulpy mess. Monica Bellucci, after being violently raped for the better part of 10 minutes, gets her face kicked in, nose broken, etc, etc.

Rough movie.

no...i think that is a different part in the movie where pesci has a guy's head in a vice. or maybe that was goodfellas.
