Mother F-ing BF1942 RANT!!! EDIT:5/2

This game is a fvcking piece of sh!t. All this mother-fvcker is good for is dumping me back to my desktop at the most inopportune time conceivable. I don't fvcking get it. Why won't this fvcking mother-fvcker run???

My rig:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AIW 9700 Pro
XP2100 @ XP2700
2 x 256mb XMS PC3500
Maxtor ATA 133 7200rpm
Lite-on 52x CDRW
XP pro

I've updated XP completely, ALL the MB drivers, Graphics drivers to Catalyst 3.2
Changed the refresh rate option in videodefault.con, kissed it, cursed it, and kicked it AND IT STILL WON'T RUN!!!!

I hate this fvcking game.
What a total piece of sh!t. EA Games can bite me.

EDIT:Well, just did a full reinstall of XP and guess what? IT STILL F-ING CRASHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's got to be either the Catalyst 3.2 driver suite or DirectX 9.0a.

Stop complaining and fix it:

Go into the following directory:

\battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings

Open VideoDefault with wordpad and/or notepad and change:

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0

to

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

Have fun. Make sure you install DC .03, you'll be missing out. BTW get some more ram, 1gb is good for fast gameplay.

my game starts to the left .. i don't feel like adjusting my screen for the game and then again when i exit out. Any solutions?

It's a thoroughbred "B" core. I'm actually running it a little conservative. Temps never go above 47C and the AGP is locked at 66mhz.

It's never a guarantee though, my previous computer was overclocked from a 2.0 GHz P4 to 2.4 GHz no problems. My current one will sometimes boot me to the desktop from just a mild 2.53 GHz to 2.66 GHz. I just run it at default now and it seems to have cleared up the problems. My cpu for both was always cool, but I suspect RAM as my issue for my current comp.

I was having your problem as well....and my system is not too different from yours....I finally just did a fresh install of XP and it worked great after that...and it was worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust me

I think your reformat with XP will do the trick but it could be ATI(nvidia fanboy here)..

not that it'll fix your problem, but u should buy more ram anyways. 1gb is very good for this game, esp desrt combat.
