EDIT: Doesn't mean I wouldn't take it, if I could buy it for $100k. It will pull a Enzo in resale value

Too bad the Skyline will hand them their ass. Mmmmmkay, thanks, goodbye - on to the next badge whore.

ummm I'd be willing to bet that 170K worth of Noble engineering will assrape any skyline. So should f430 according to all the reivews - that car is a beast

hell you can pick up 400hp Evo 8 for 40gs that will perform pretty close to the skyline

For that price, I'd rather buy a Corvette C6-R, or a Porsche GT3 with spares.

CORRECT! If tou want to call me a badge whore, fine. But for $200K I could buy an entirely host of cars.

The CL65 has 638hp/760lbft of torque. Its a fvcking rocket for $180k. This is a fvckin Nissan tuned to the max. Is it rice? No. But there are better options. If you want the respect of 16 year old boys reading Import Tuner magazine, this is your pick.

Theres an entirely different class to a Ferrari.

I would take someone who knows how to drive in a Miata over you in your Ferrari, Lamborghini, AMG anyday.

I'm glad you aren't serious. I definitely have respect for Miatas, but come on!

iirc Nissan is buying back old Skylines with <20kms to build these cars. It's not going to be another production run. That said, it's too much $$ and the Skyline is overrated.

Well $200K cars, that who competes with the Skyline.

Gallardo, Porsche GT2, GT3, Porsche Turbo X50 model, Ferrari F360, Ford GT, Corvette Lingenfelter TT (1/4 mile under 10seconds on street tires), Viper GTSR Comp, Hennessey Venom Viper, Mallet C5's, NSX CompTech, BMW Z8, Dinan M5, C55 Kompressor, S55 Kompressor, Caddy CTS-V S/C, Evo MR. Aston Martin, Bentley Continental GT, Noble M12, Mosler Raptor, Factory Five Cobra's.

I think everyone listed above is below $200K and has performance exceeding or close to the GT-R

But all the kids use the Skyline in Gran Turismo, so it must be cool

you are correct on most of your picks. Don't forget the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stratdale, the new F430 and the Benz CL/SL 65. Lingenfelter:thumbsup: How much do used F50's go for nowadays?

The Ferrari F430, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Porsche 911 GT3, the Ford GT. All of those actually cost less than the Skyline, and I believe, outperform it in a general sense.

The next generation GT-R is going to be built on a new frame, not the current Skyline/G35 chassis. Come back when you know what you're talking about.

MOST any car? Yeah, but will hand nothing in its price range its ass. This car has been tweaked to give all that it can. Maybe you could squeeze another 100 crank HP out of this car, maybe!

I don't find the wide body look appealing and the big front air dam, while useful, doesnt flow well. Look at the tacked on boy racer ground effects body kit. The crappy interior, and you've got an $80K car. And yes, it looks like a ricer Prelude or an S15 with a Zenki front end!

I even have a 240SX as a 2nd car.

I'm confused, you sound like a Nissan fan but you're not familiar with the fact that there a 1000+ hp tuned GT-Rs.

I was thinking specifically of cars that have four door, AWD, and 500 hp engines.

Is the new M5 AWD?

Ok, so its a nice rare car and all the rice boys will worship you if you own one but at $200 freakin K ???
You got to be kidding me....
No one else beside rice boys will even give it a second look. Everyone else will think you're a little too old to be owning a car reserve for teens.

Sh!t, if I had $200K, the top of my list would be a Ferrari, Lambo, etc..
Just because of the prestige and the amount of putang you get with having one

To the folks listing cars saying they can keep up with a Skyline, as someone posted above...stock its nothing special, but these cars have been tuned to just over 1000HP...what part of this list could keep up with that?

Gallardo, Porsche GT2, GT3, Porsche Turbo X50 model, Ferrari F360, Ford GT, Corvette Lingenfelter TT (1/4 mile under 10seconds on street tires), Viper GTSR Comp, Hennessey Venom Viper, Mallet C5's, NSX CompTech, BMW Z8, Dinan M5, C55 Kompressor, S55 Kompressor, Caddy CTS-V S/C, Evo MR. I am hardly a teen, and think that the car in the link is FAR from rice...Why does everyone immediately call anything that comes out of Japan rice no matter how nice the car may be. I think the 200K pricetag kinda elminates the possibility of it being a ricer. That being said, if I had 200 grand, I can think of many things I would purchase before that car, BUT...if 200K wouldnt hurt my financial situation I would certainly pick one up

Base, brute HP isn't necessarily everything. It's the total package that counts.

As far as the OP: I'd almost rob someone for the GT-R Z, but I'd kill for an F430.

Edit: and I don't think anyone's calling it rice per-se. But it's basically a GT-R with $150k worth of add-ons, as opposed to a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, etc., which is purpose-built with that price and performance range in mind from the start.

It's definitely a nice car, but as many others have said, for that price there are a few different cars I'd take first.

I understand the discussion of stock, the link doesn't list the specs, however...people were trashing the skyline in general on this post, and I wasnt sure why. Its simply an amazingly upgradable car....If the 200K price is too much, I would venture to say that you could buy a stock R33 or R34 and upgrade it to beat all of those cars listed for under 200K.

Heres a vid I found of a prototype R33 kicking the hell out of a Busa on a strip...its Realplayer though, I will look for another format (the drag with the Busa is at the end of the clip)

R33 vs Busa

HP doesn't mean everything. Being able to utilize all that power [properly] is everything imo. A balance of handling and power are key imo, to a great car. Thats not to say that a 1000HP Skyline doesn't have it, its that 1000HP is quite hard to put down to the ground unless it is a purpose built car such as Formula 1 or CART. To be able to fully utilize 1000HP on a Skyline would, imo, require a lot of modification to the car's design, so much where you'd pratically have re-engineered the whole car.

I'd take a Porsche GT3 cup car or even a Corvette C5-R or the new C6-R, or an Ultima GTR over a Skyline [even a highly tuned one] anyday on a track like Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Infineon, Willow Springs, Watkins Glen.... The Porsche GT3 has a very succesful record in the GT class of LeMans, and the Corvette C5-R has a very sucessful record in the GTS class.

Top fuel drag cars have been tuned to over 6000HP, what skyline can keep up with that????

CORRECT! A car is a total package. If you want raw power that has been specially "tuned" buy a Dodge Tomahawk that can't take turns. But it has 500hp.
