Motherboard for Opteron 165

Maybe its bad luck... maybe I'm just a DFI Ultra-D nub..but I've had it with this board.

I have an Opteron 165 and OCZ Gold 2x1024 DDR500 3-4-3-8 (OCZ5002048). The DFI refuses to post with both sticks of memory in it (either dual channel, or single). If I clear the CMOS, I can get it to boot both sticks in single channel ONCE.

Anyway. So, I'm about to drop the DFI and I'm looking for another motherboard recommendation. Anandtech gives the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe -- but that article is quite old. I also don't need SLI. Is there a similarly featured board that can hit around 290ish FSB?

Are you using the most current bios for your mb? Have you checked to see if the mb supports that ram? What voltage are you using? You should have at least 2.7v or higher.

I am using the latest bios (2005/11/14)
I have checked compatibility, yes.
Voltage is currently back to 2.6V -- I did try 2.7V.
