Motherboard or CPU cooked?

I have an MSI NF750-G55 motherboard and AMD quad-core CPU I bought off off Craigslist. The setup doesn't seem to be working: While everything lights up on the board and the fans spin up, there's no power to the keyboard and I don't get any beeps or video output. I'm hoping the motherboard is dead and not the CPU, but I'm not sure. Any easy way to check?

I would test the ram on another board and see if it errors out, and try a different PSU and ram on that board if you have extra known good parts you can use. If you're using a video card and not the on board video on that board try a different known good card as well. If the memory is good and has no known compatibility issues with your board and you know the PSU and video card is good try the CPU in another board that supports it if you can.If you have the same issue on a different known good board it's the CPU, if you don't it's your original board.

I've been doing this for a pretty long time and I can count on one hand how many times I've had a fried CPU. It happens but it's rare, at least from my experience. It's possible the person who sold it to you did some stupid shit with it. I personally never buy used hardware, ever.
