I recently built a new comp using an Abit KG7-RAID Board. I had some issues with drivers and such, everything was sorted out. Until I apparently did a very stupid thing. I set the RAM CAS rating from 2.5 to 2. Needless to say I have no idea how to fix it. When I restarted the computer I was beginnign to get a major system slowdown and crashes so I merely set the CAS back to 2.5 as I was told the worst that could happen would be system instability. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem so I reformatted the system and put the crappy Win98 back on the HD drive again. The instablity went away but now I get undefined error w/ a hex number, indicating a RAM problem when I've tested it and know its not. Anyway, what are my options for fixing the mobo? Could changing the CAS rating really ruin my system.
