Motherboard supports Tualatin?

Ok so here's a question if anybody can answer it. The motherboard in question is a Tyan model S2567 (Thunder HEsl), Socket 370 and all that. Now to the question. This page at Tyan says that the mobo supports PIII FC Coppermine core processors. I don't know what the FC means but I think it's somewhat of a moot point because the appropriate processors on NewEgg are the Tualatin core. There is a BIOS update for the motherboard, but I didn't see anything mentioned about adding support for Tualatin processors. The last BIOS update is dated 9/28/01, and as I can't remember when that core was released they may not even be thinking of releasing support for it.

I've been seeing on Google searches the HEsL-T, I assume the T stands for Tualatin... which is bad, because I got this board much much cheaper then it would have cost new (it works, I saw it running before I got it, I even removed it from the pc) and I definately can't afford to get the HEsL-T.

Any info anybody can provide would be awesome, thanks in advance.

FC means Flip Chip, or FCPGA Pentium III, and it wont support the Tualatin unless the board has the T identifier. However you can purchase adaptors for like 20 bucks to make it work with Tualatins.

What confuses me is that there are Coppermine and Coppermine-T cores. I have deduced from readings and searching the Google that the Coppermine-T are the PIII-S type, in that they can be used in dual cpu configurations. I have also found on Pricewatch some processors that say, for example, "PENTIUM® III 512K Cache 1.26Ghz FCPGA2 Coppermine 133MHz FSB TUALATIN OEM". Coppermine AND Tualatin? I don't think that's possible, is it? Anyways, since it's FCPGA2 I don't think it will be compatible, but does this mean there isn't a processor that can work with that mobo since apparently there are no PIII-S that can be supported? I'd hate to hafta scrap a perfectly good dual proc board

The PIII S-type chips are Ultra Low Voltage chips designed to
be used on small form factor server boards for low heat dissipation.

Also, the S-type chips have a 512k L2 Cache.

After a little searching, I found some FCPGA2 to FCPGA adapters (I think they are) at some company. Here's the link. However, I'm not really a big fan of giving my credit card info to some weird company I've never heard of. If anybody has a good place they know would sell it or has shopped at the company in question (they're called Package2you.com) please let me know.

Did some research at resellerratings.com and I don't think I'd buy that part from them. Did find them elsewhere though, I guess I'll go for it next payday. I did look around and it looks like I will need one, which isn't bad I guess, since for 2 of them with shipping it should be about $30, which I guess I could handle. My only concern is getting the processors and all of a sudden "Hey they won't work even with the adapters!" which would suck... well, I guess it won't hurt to try
