Motherboards that support ECC SDRAM.

Which model is ?best? for ECC SDRAM?

AMD 760MP and 760MPX boards come to mind. Are your modules registered ECC or unbuffered ECC?

I think some but not all 760MP/MPX boards will support those modules. Looks like the Asus A7M266-D 2.0 would support at least two of them, for instance. Probably a good idea to check the various manufacturers' sites before picking a board. If you need to run four DIMMs at once, I think you're going to want Registered ECC.

The best thing to do is bite the bullet and toss the sdram, buy NON-ECC ddr (Mushkin or some good name brand).

No and no. KT133A doesn't support ECC. I had a look at two boards using alternative chipsets, the Asus A7A133 (ALi chipset) and the ECS K7S5A (SiS 735 chipset) and neither of them support ECC either. For the record, both PC133 and PC2100 are flavors of SDRAM. My suggestion: sell off that memory to someone with an old 440BX motherboard, such as a Tyan Tiger100 or something, and pick up some new memory, either unbuffered non-ECC PC133 or preferably some PC2100 or PC2700 DDR.

KT133A chipset does support ECC RAM. Even if a particular BIOS implementation doesn't offer the feature, the 72-bit-wide ECC DIMMs should still work, with the extra eight data bits unused, for normal 64-bit datapath to the chipset. Same is true for all other chipsets.

What none of the commodity chipsets support is Registered DIMMs, but yours are Unbuffered anyway.
