Ditto on the ECS 755A. I bought it, but I can't get the memory to run at 200mhz, and I have Mushkin PC3500 Level II. Seems like the bios won't let the memory run faster than 166, no matter what memory you use (have heard this from others too).

I second that.

The SiS 755 chipset was lauded in all the trade rags,
so why not review the ECS 755-A, which also happens
to be the LEAST EXPENSIVE Athlon 64 mainboard
money can buy?

I really wonder why no one has reviewed it yet.

I'm chomping at the bits to buy one...

I want to see a review of a KM400 based board. There's not even one review available for a chipset that has been released since about last summer. Not all of us can afford A64 processors and boards.

Ditto, heard you can flash with the 755-A2 and can possibly do it. Head over to AMDMB Forums for the link to it. Mine didn't do so well with, and returning for the reason of being stuck at 166 MHz.

I couldn't get the AU13 to ever post, and I tried three different boards. I'd like to see how it performs though, it might give me incentive to go back to Fry's and pick one up since it was only like $60

I'd personally like to see...

Logitech Z-5300s 5.1s
Logitech Z-680s 5.1s

Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1s
Promedia GMX 5.1s

Creative Gigaworks S700 5.1s
Creative Inspire GD580 5.1s

Just a thought

Haha, don't worry, we're looking into a dedicated speaker/sound editor as I speak.

Awesome. I want some good reviews of speakers and sound cards by an audiophile on the home TeAm!

Now that it has been reviewed and the review is highly positive, does anyone know where to buy it ("it" being the ECS 755-A2) in the U.S. ???

www.pricewatch.com only shows the ECS 755-A, which is the mainboard that the ECS755-A2 has now obsoleted.

i think nforce2 has been reviewed enough (in all it's forms)

i like to see reviews of new chipset more than new motherboards
abit, asus, epox, and the main names should always be reviewed following each new chipset release

keep up the good work !!

I wonder if this thread is being read by the people who deliver and not only those like me who hope to get their request granted.

I am mostly interested in mobo reviews with the latest chipsets. I would also like to see short followups for mobo revisions (rev 1, rev 1.1, rev 2, ...) and driver/bios changes. Finally, I would like to see followups to the big mobo comparisions (e.g., socket xyz roundup) to include new/revised boards.

If a review of any of the Tyan Opteron boards comes up, I'd love to see if any actually do PC2700 RAM properly (as opposed to underclocking it if you don't have a 2GHz CPU, like the S2880(U)GNR).

I tend to get overwhelmed with research. I'm grateful for what I've read reRESCOTT and will not consider it. What I read that I liked was SiS 755 + SiS964 compared to 875. Which leads me to Athlon 64 vs Northwood. I'm going to build a system soon. I have the $ now. I'm not interested in the WIN XP 64 beta. I'd like for what I build to be able to work with 64bit. Perhaps is not practical for my useage. I recently got a 8x DvD burner & 16x DvD-rom. I'd like to try video editing, creation, duplication. My current system is a P3-733 512ram, can up to 1.0 cpu 1.5ram... but I believe it would be very close to crashing. I'm not into gaming much, just race car games that I have [will not accquire any new this year].
Q build a 64 or northwood ? seems both within my budget
Q I like my current case. solid steel [inwin300?] not a lot of vents. but w a 3 fan power supply, 2 exhaust, 1 intake, hard drive fans, northbridge fan [if applicable] - could i keep it cool enough ? currently with old slow fans, old power supply, is 126 degrees

I concur. None of the budget chipsets (VIA KM266, KM400(A), forthcoming K8M800, SiS 740/741/650/651, forthcoming SiS 760, ATi IGP, NVidia IGP) have had anywhere near usable coverage.

I'd love to see a comparison of the Shuttle 875P motherboard to comparably equipped Asus P4C800E, the Abit IC7Max, comparing performance.

Also ... some guidelines for what to expect from the power supply in the Shuttle 875P system. Some reviewers -- and the Shuttle factory people -- make it sound like you can stick a 3.2 GHz CPU in there and the fastest most power hungry video card -- etc. -- and just have magic faith that the power supply will take it.

Sorry, personally I think we got to ask questions about power supply loading.

So, just a thorough exploration of the Shuttle 875P SFF system.

It's a great system -- not knocking it.
