So it appears at the Moto e 2nd gen has the same snapdragon 410 processor as the Moto g 3rd gen, no? It is smaller to boot. Any reason to get the g over the e?
Yeah, so I picked the Moto e because it is smaller and cheaper.
Quick question...I am replacing a 1st gen Moto x with this phone. The Moto x had its screen shattered. How would the 410 processor in the Moto e compare with the Moto x's S4 procesor, also given the lower resolution of the Moto e. How about battery life? My two biggest problems with the x was really bad battery life and running out of storage.
Solid battery life on the Moto E. With light/moderate usage, I just leave it running as a mobile hotspot for the entire day.
I don't know how the 1st gen Moto X performs, but I actually find the 2nd gen Moto E to be slower than the 1st gen Moto G (4.5", Snapdragon 400). The Moto G was on KitKat, though.
So I just got the phone. It isn't as good as my old phone, but it is good enough. For speed it is sufficiently snappy while viewing web pages. Gaming it stinks. I suspect that they might have cut corners in the flash storage,m which might explain some of the slowness complaints, despite the relatively quick processor.
Also, now I'm not sure what incentive there is to get a Moto g 3rd gen when you can get a 2nd gen Moto X for twenty bucks more.
