I like the matte colors on the Motorola better. They won't leave fingerprints as easily. I think I can already see fingerprint smudges on those glossy iPhone backs.

They both look hideous, fingerprints are the least of the problem. They may appeal to 13 year old girls but really...

There's bound to be reasonable colour schemes though (please?).

A few days ago, you lashed out at a poster that considered the Xperia Z as being outdated...What changed on the S4 Pro since your posting a few days ago that you now consider it all of a sudden to be dumbed down specs?

At $200, this phone provides much better value than a $600+ Xperia Z at this point.
because this phone has so much hype? How much hype did we give the Xperia Z?

Also I thought we're talking about the S4 dual here not the S4 pro for the Moto X? Which means even less power. Xperia Z was also launched far before this.... like Jan? Feb? Don't think the Snapdragon 600 was out yet..

Yeah, those colors shown are horrible. Supposedly there are 16 choices with the Moto X, so there is bound to be a couple decent ones.

LTE is given from here on, I think. The colors look terrible on pics but neon colors never look great on pictures. They may look better in person.

I'm rather curious of the material (Moto X). Does it look somewhat flexible? Not silicon flexible but perhaps TPU flexible.

I know some people are hoping this phone is $200, but I think that's not going to happen...

However this possibly unrelated story has me thinking there might be a connection with the Moto X pricing though...

http://phandroid.com/2013/07/11/nex...est-smartphone-is-now-first-google-smartphone

Apparently Google Play changed the description of the Nexus 4 from "The best smart phone starting at $299" to "The first Google smartphone starting at $299" (previous Google phones started at higher prices).

So could this mean that Google Play doesn't want to refer to the Nexus 4 as the "best smartphone starting at $299" because they'll soon be selling the Moto X at $299 on Google Play?

That's what I was thinking, too, Ravynmagi. If it does come out to $300 and is on Verizon, that means I can sell this iPhone 5 and pick up the Moto X!

They must have just flipped the picture in the black one or the white because the speaker grill is in a different place.

Nah, how I understand it... the one on the picture I posted is the USA version the other is a Chinese dual SIM (or even fake) version.
You can see the speaker grill on the "Chinese" version has much less and bigger holes then the "USA" version.

That's extremely reasonable. Maybe you are right. One thing I hate about that design choice is the lack of 3rd party accessory unity. What I mean by that is, when you have multiple designs, a company isn't going to focus on building it's accessories for those products or variants. You'll be able to find something, sure, but if it's from a company you like or a popular company, there's a good chance they'll pass.

Regardless, I'm quite excited to see this phone because if it's as good as I'm hoping it will be and also on Verizon, I might have to get rid of this iPhone 5 and get the Moto X.

It looks like the HTC First with convex back. Eh..

HTC First seems to have a pretty flat back from this image I see on the Verge. I like the shape of the Moto X. I just hope the storage is not limited to 16GB like it sounds like it may be.

Oh the First isn't convex. I meant the X being convex in the back while the rest of its body looks like the First.

If this phone is actually $200, even $300 off contract, it will be the perfect replacement for my Galaxy Nexus. I hope it has great battery life. Personally I don't need 1080p and a quad core SoC, I just want my phone to last all day.

Looks kinda thick. I doubt MotoX will be able take on other flagship phones in its first iteration.
