Picked up my Moto X on Verizon with their unlimited plan contract renewal glitch this weekend. I had recently replaced my Rezound with a DNA; loved the screen, but the battery life with lots of screen-time was atrocious.
From the first full charge down to 10%, I got 41+ hours runtime with 78 minutes of voice calls and 2+ hours screen time. Next one was nearly 30 hours with 3.5 hours screen-time and 26 minutes voice calls. Not bad at all.
I love the smooth performance. It is absolutely tiny in my hands compared to a DNA with a case on it. I have a Seidio Active arriving today or tomorrow. I have large hands and the X is actually a tad small to hold securely in one hand, mainly I think due to the sloped sides. Looking forward to having the case on it.
Touchless features are pretty cool, though I don't use them all the time. I haven't received a call or text while driving yet, so no experience with Assist. I declined to activate the Moto device management features since Google now supports it.
I really want to root and get WiFi tether working, but I'd rather wait until after Verizon gets the camera fix OTA out. The only other issue I noticed is this morning all of my sound volumes (including notifications and alarms) were very low, even though the settings were up. A reboot fixed it; weird.
Tip: Run Google Drive on your X and on first run it will launch the product tour with an offer for 50GB storage upgrade free for 2 years. If it disappears or doesn't work, you can access it any time by launching the product tour under the settings menu. For some reason it wouldn't access the offer when I was on WiFi, had to switch to LTE.
