The benchmarks aren't bad at all. In fact, it does quite well. This phone might be tweaked for performance and perhaps battery life.

well on verizon that is the droid ultra maxx or whatever.

given they are even releasing that phone (quad, with 5" 1080p) i'm assuming they could release similar phones on other carriers. just i'm guessing it nots going to be like the moto X which is exactly the same for every carrier just variants on the hardware.

probably matters which one the carrier wants. for example the razr M , is the electrify on us cellular and those are the only 2 carriers that have it (and the electrify looks totally different)

That would be nice, but, I don't think Motorola is really in that position.

I mean, if they deliver this device under $300, then it should really appeal to the Nexus crowd. Especially if they can get it with LTE. It looks like a decent phone. I'd probably buy one if it hit $200.

yep, droid ultra maxx>>>>moto x. moto x is looking pretty ghetto compared to current high end phones, but if it has ghetto pricing to match, itll work for most people

I am actually excited about the Moto X, especially if the bench scores are true.

I think Google/Moto purposely used lower specs on this phone so they can sell it at a dirt cheap price. If you look at it, the specs are only hair short of the HTC One and Samsung S4. Imagine the uproar from the other phone makers and wireless companies if Google had released a mainstream (not Nexus) phone with modernized specs that was significantly cheaper.

This phone IMO is just the stepping stone for Google/Moto to shake up the wireless industry.

If this phone is able to sell for ~300 unlocked and run smoothly, it be an instant success.

It's pretty gay the way they're trying to pass off different colored backing and monogramming as innovation, most people were probably expecting customizability wrt CPU, memory, storage, screen resolution etc...

No they weren't.

I'm excited for the Moto X. As an owner of the HTC One I don't think 1080P is a requirement for a smartphone. The bezels look nice and thin, and stock Android (or as close as it gets) is a big plus.

It's the reported resolution with onscreen buttons. So really it's actually a 1280x720... or 720x1280, rather, resolution for the screen, and the buttons take up 96 pixels. That's why it's reporting as such.

I'm assuming he didn't realize the pixels dedicated to the onscreen buttons isn't reported as the actual resolution of the device.

It's a nice looking phone, the white one in particular. And I say that as someone who doesn't really like white phones and thinks that recent moto phones have been fugly as hell.
They need to make a high end version with a big screen and all the bells and whistles of the other top phones.

Because its a non-standard resolution? And don't give me the whole Android handles resolutions just fine story because while it's supposed to, there's plenty of fragmentation issues still.

Anyhow, at least dlock13 clarified that this is because this is referring to the leftover display real estate after accounting for the 96 px of the navigation bar.

I don't see how your post helps as usual. Many 720p phones released last year were reported as 1280x720. It would have been more useful if you pointed out the 96 px was in the navigation bar, but it's ok. Instead of posting something knowledgeable, all you have to post are insults.
