Yes that app is awesome. I wish the controls were built into Android kinda like CyanogenMod? The fewer apps I have running in the background, the better.

AOKP has decent built in LED options but not a full featured as lightflow

also OBLAMA2009 you have no idea WTF you are talking about

I haven't touched any custom ROMs in a long time. I customize my phones to the extent that the Play Store allows, I don't bother going any further than that. So to me it's important that a phone work properly without needing root/ROMing.

The one thing I love about rooting devices is for adblocking (I know it cuts from devs, but sometimes those ads are so abnoxious) and quick backups via TiBu. There are other reasons, but I can't remember right now. I have an iPhone at the moment, and I'm waiting on either the 5S or the Moto X before I commit to something.

I just want this phone to come out already.

That's true I forgot about the ad blocking, but unless it's dead easy to root my T-Mobile HTC One, I can't be bothered to do it.

I know exactly what you mean. My friend has a GPE Galaxy S4, and he wants to get into the rooting/ROMing sides of things. The only problem is that he doesn't have a clue about any of that stuff. He has no idea where to start, and honestly, when it comes to searching for anything, it's extremely hit or miss. So he just told me, forget it. I'll stay stock.

You actually have no idea what you're talking about. LED notification lights don't cause screen burn-in.

I can see it now, a 5 inch 10 pound plasma screen phone. Three inches thick with two inch bezels. Great blacks but horrible screen burn in.

I am only dismissing it because I already have almost the same exact specs...in my Nexus 4 at almost the same price, so there's no benefit in me upgrading to it.

LTE is a huge benefit to me. Not having a glass back is also a benefit for usability IMO.

Stock Android has an excellent software experience. Sense and TouchWiz? Not so much...

It took until 4.3 for the stock dialer to include features that Sense/Touchwiz etc have had since the days of Froyo. The stock "email" app still doesn't support on/off peak schedules. Most agree the stock camera app is inferior to the OEM versions. Sure, there are apps on the market that can provide all of this, but with a common aesthetic? Not so much.

Point being, you may like a bare bones software experience, but there's no denying the OEM additions do have value for many people.

I wonder if they'll make it one model for all carriers. I mean if you think about the new Nexus 7 incorporating all 3 networks LTE connections into it, then it might be possible for them to do that in the phone as well. The only problem with that theory is it would have to carry a CDMA radio in there as well and be certified/authorized by Verizon to work on their network.

I can't wait till they switch to LTE voice because then we can just use one radio for them and call it a day.
