It's $432 on T-Mobile today. Hmm, buy at that price or get straight from Google for less... :hmm:

I would think they charge that much because if you're buying it outright, T-Mobile isn't getting any profit unless you're using their network or their profit margin is very tiny. They could have purchased the phones for $400 per and sell them at that much to make up for the cost.

Also, the Google Play version is more than likely (but I don't think ever confirmed) heavily subsidized due to Google getting money from app sales, rentals, etc.. So while the phone might have cost $500 to make, Google tosses their own money to LG so it only costs us $299 and $349 respectively which then we pay Google back by using their services, buying their products, etc..

Not going to be $300 off-contract. No way.

The new Droid lineup has the same hardware, and they are full VZW $600+.

There's a chance Google will heavily subsidize the price of the device so you can get it off-contract for a lot cheaper than normal.

Also, I tried to go to the Play Store and find a link to the X, but I had no success. Anyone have any ideas on where we could find an active link for it? I'm going to head over to Motorola's site and see if I can figure out the device address.

But that's Verizon.

I could see $300-400. Older hardware (S4 and 720p screen) can help it get a lower price point.

I meant from the Play Store, there's a good chance it will be around $300 or from Motorola's website directly it could be that much.

If you're going to buy it from a carrier, there's a chance they didn't get it subsidized as much as Google is giving it away at so they will probably cost more.

Verizon is getting Moto X right? If it's $500 I am definitely going to sell my RAZR MAXX HD.

The front looks very much like the Nexus 4's. Convex back isn't my thing but at least this one is done with a bit better taste. Specs say a solid mid-range option, except AMOLED screen which is often reserved for high-end devices.

Looks like $199 on two-year contract and launching on all major carriers and US Cellular. Curios what the outright cost will be. Somewhere around $499? Also of note it supposedly won't be preloaded with a ton of carrier apps which is a first for a non Apple phone (that I can recall).

Looks like a pretty good phone. Don't really need quad-core and 1080p specs. The 2gb ram is very nice and I think will be a bigger benefit.

$199/$249 for this phone on a 2 year contract after all of the hype they put out. You got to be kidding me. This thing is a dud.

i gotta laugh at all the people who had high dreams based off rumors. The biggest laugh of the complainers are the ones who expected this to be dirt cheap off-contract.

Booooo. $200 with contract? Might as well get the HTC One which is more powerful and IMO looks way better.
