Who has the MXP? I will be having this phone for a few years, I assume.

Going forward, perhaps we can use this thread to share tips, tricks, and experiences.

Here are some things I did to set it up:

I decided to not make SD card part of internal storage. For now, after installing all my apps, I am using 11GB out of 16GB. I do not store pics or vids on my camera, so this is fine for a while.
Installed my 128GB mSD card, and selected "external storage"

I also connected up my BlueTooth devices, and changed the device name.
Bluetooth -> More Settings -> Overflow menu -> Rename this Device

I installed free Nova launcher, since the stock icons are so huge. Was that the right move?

Just transferred my old contacts stored in Verizon's “Backup Assistant” app via new app called “Verizon Cloud” to transfer the data between phones (not via cloud). Only copied over my contacts. Trying to keep this phone lean and mean. Screw it, I exported my contacts on the VZ website into a CSV, and imported the CSV into Gmail.

I just enabled the battery percentage display by long pressing the settings gear.

Figured out the double karate chop to turn on the flashlight, and the double flip to turn on the camera.

Currently, I am looking for a leather wallet case. I think one made for the Nexus 6P may also work.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181935938681?
Got this brown wallet case for $6. Fake leather, but perfect for proof of concept of consolidating wallet into cell phone.
At worst, still cheaper than screen protector and/or gel case (makes both those moot)

Damn, for $6, it's worth just to do a pilot of the wallet paradigm.
If I like it, I can always get a nicer one. Thanks.

I have one, bought it in November. Just have a normal TPU case and a tempered glass screen protector.

If I take a pic, I want it to be stored on external mSD, not internal.
I set the camera to store media on teh SD card using the settings wheel.
Wish I could set this on an OS level, and not on an app level.

What ToDo list app do you use? I want to minimize the number of swipes, pushes, and clicks to just jot something down while driving. I want the shortest path from picking up the phone to typing in my note. I used to used Evernote, but it's got too much overhead (clicking icon, pressing "+" for new note, making bullet list, etc) On my last phone, I was using "QuickNote+" which was launched by swiping down. I liked that.

What app? Shortcut on desktop? Again, as quick and slick as possible. Can I set up a widget?

Clearly you don't understand the difference between looking up a list of commands (RTFM)
vs. asking people to qualitatively discuss the ones they use the most.

I use either google keep and its widget for quick reminders or Calendar widget:month for appointments or long term type stuff.

I don't use moto voice or any voice commands for that matter, so I don't have any recommendations for you in that area, sorry.

I just installed Google Keep right now.
How do you make it a desktop widget?

Let us know if this works?

Devices using Google Now Launcher:

Touch and*hold an*empty section of the*Home screen.
At the bottom of the screen, touch*Widgets.
Scroll until you see the Keep widgets.
Touch and hold the widget you want to add, and drag it to the Home screen.

Note: You can*choose which Google Account you want to use with the Keep widget.

I've used Evernote for a few years, and it works fine.
The key was rigging up a "1 click" instant entry via widget
Turns out, Evernote also has a widget, so they both work the same.
Both integrate the same data on desktop, mobile, and tablet.
Just install either and start using it.

I bought one when they came out and traded it for a new Nexus 6 and $150 cash. I sold the Nexus 6 for $300 today and got a new 16gb moto x pure from Amazon warehouse deals. Said the phone was in very good condition and in the description it said no damage to the phone at all but damage to the box with all original packaging.

The phone came in today and I swear it is brand new, not a single scratch anywhere, the charge port was spotless and the charge cable was rolled up like new, so I'm guessing I got a impulse buy return which I'm cool with for $294.

I ordered a supcase unicorn beetle heavy duty for $18 at the same time and forgot to order a SD card for it.

Compared to the Nexus 6 the moto x is just as smooth, its way easier to handle. I can one hand text now with no issues and the camera is so much better.

Any ideas on a SD card to get? The only thing I'll store on it is pictures and video which I think I'll be taking a lot of now since the camera focus is so good.

Im looking at getting either a 32gb or 64gb card. 64gb is probably total overkill but whatever. I'd appreciate any ideas on what SD card to get. I haven't bought one in years and would like to get something fast to use for pics and videos shot in at least 1080p

I've got this in my MXP. No problems.

Debating getting this for my wife.
Would you guys agree it's better than a Nexus 5x?

Camera quality is all she really cares about. She always asks me to take pictures with my 6s Plus and it's sort of annoying at times. She is a die hard Android user too - she won't consider an iDevice for anything.

Do you use it as portable or extended storage?
Using portable. I have the 32gb model so enough space for my apps on the internal memory. I want to be able to remove the sd card and be able to access the files.

I have the MXP- don't care about usb type c, or the fingerprint reader. Love the turbo charging and the micro-sd card slot.
