Motocross Madness & G400MAX

This is for anyone who is playing Motocross Madness 2, and has a G400MAX.

On two of the National tracks, I'm really getting choppy play, really bad. All the rest seem to be fine, Supercross, Baja, Enduro. Only on two of the National tracks does the chopping accrue.

Anyone have an idea why?

BTW: What is the latest version of D3D? I?m currently using 7a.

Which tracks? Also, what are your system specs? What res are you running MCM2 in? Using MGATweak?

As you can see, there are a lot of factors to consider. I'm running a P3 700E@933 with a vanilla G400 (tweaked to MAX speed) and average around 40-45fps on most National tracks at 1024 res. I have the video quality slide switch down 2 notches from the best setting. Don't kid yourself, MCM2 is a pretty demanding game, much more so than MCM1. When there's a lot going on (scenery, riders, effects, etc) I still get a slowdown here and there.

FYI, I run DirectX 7.0a and PD6.0 beta. These vid drivers gave me the best performance and finally allowed 4x AGP on my MSI 6309 (VIA 133A) mobo.

Let me get back to you on the tracks, I can't remember their names right now.

I have a T-Bird running at default speed 700MHz, the G400MAX is also running at default speed. I?m not using the MGATweak, and my resolution it at 1024x768 32-bit, same as yours I believe.

Yes, MCM2 is a very demanding on the video card, much more textures then the first I?ve notice. I think I currently have my details that default, I tried turning it all the way down and playing on that choppy map, but it didn?t help.

I?m going to be playing some later tonight, and I?ll post which two tracks they are when I get off. Thanks for your help, I?ll be back!

Hmm...seems it only does it on Iron Mountian now. It was doing it on another track before, but I ran all the tracks and it seems to be fine, just Iron Mountain is still very choppy.

OK, here's my take on the situation. Iron Mountain is bad. Very bad. Like I said, I get an average fps in the low 40's on most National tracks. Well, I just tried Iron Mountain and I squeaked out about 20 fps average after a minute or so of play. At 640 res, I got high 30's. I have to admit that I only played that track one other time and it was very choppy. I was online and thought it had something to do with the connection. Well now I'm sure it's the track. BTW, what fps are you getting? If you don't know how to view fps, push the "F" key while racing on the track. Let me know, but it looks like the problem is the track and NOT your setup.

Hehehe, yes, it's really that bad! I did nothing higher then 15FPS, well going as low as 6FPS on Iron Mountain. Most other tracks I get 35-40FPS.

Well, at least I know I'm not alone.
